Heading home |
Our sentence this time was 22 days, with no early release for our super behaviour. As some of you may recall on previous visits, our behaviour has been less than exemplary. We have not been able to play with other dogs due to issues with humping and fence fighting (we maintain all seemingly negative behaviour was in response to other dogs behaviours, it was self-defence only . . . ). However, at pick up, the Lady and Man were informed that we were so good this time, next time, we would likely have the opportunity to leave our solitary confinement and play with others.
They also reported that Phod was a good eater this time. In the past, he has lost weight in the kennel and Lee has made herself sick eating his food. During these previous sentences, Precious has not accompanied Phod (it got to go this time), nor has our kongs and the huge jar peanut butter. It was reported that this time Phod did have a fear response to strangers. At our kennel all the dog parents/owners get to go to the back to leave and get their pups. They said everyone thought Phod was beautiful (no mention of Lee, they must all need to clean their glasses). They would approach him in the cage where he would be barking. He would sniff their hands, then run outside and act scared. Phod says he had PTSD flashbacks to when he was in the shelter before foster care and before Lady and Man. He was afraid that these strangers were going to take him home. He wanted to like the people but didn't want to be taken.
At any rate, it was our best kennel report ever and Lady was not embarrassed. (We will need to try harder next time to see if we can get expelled). We are thrilled to be home, and are sort of talking to our peeps.
YAY for a good report card, A+++ to you both
ReplyDeleteAnd an even bigger WOOHOO for your Get Outta Jail card...hope you are settling in well now you are back home
Loves and licky kisses

wow congrats! that was a super report and I'm sure the Lady and the Man think about eggs-tra treats and eggs-tra toys for you now ;O)
ReplyDeleteIt probably did remind him of his time in a shelter! I guess those experiences stay with them long after they are adopted. There is an awesome new shelter, have you seen it? I'll go get you the link. I wish more shelters were like this one!

DeleteIt's on Facebook.
So pleased that things more or less went well at the kennels!
ReplyDeleteOMD, jail sounds awful! I'm so glad you're back at home where you belong now!
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear you all did well in prison this time but if you behave so well your peeps might be inclined to send you there more often. We suggest you not act like you are enjoying yourselves so much next time. Sorry to hear Phod had some PTSD from his shelter days.
ReplyDeleteThat's a long time to be in jail. Mom and Dad visit her Dad to get stuff done around his house separately so that one of them is home with me. They only go out together on a holiday, and then just for a long weekend while I stay with the dog sitter. Barkley LOVED going to dog camp.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of camp. Mom has a friend who has a small farm. She was giving her chickens a bunch of extra treats and fattening food because she said they were going to "freezer camp" next week. I've never heard of that but it sounds cold.

All in all, it sounds like a good report and I am so happy that you are home!
ReplyDeleteGood for you pups! I bet you were glad to get back home, though.
ReplyDeleteA++++++ reports!!" Now my peeps 200% agree with,"They said everyone thought Phod was beautiful BUT we would have to add that Lee has most glistening furs and is a black beauty. We concur with lady and man "they must all need to clean their glasses."
ReplyDeleteWe thought you were gonna stay with Emma and her dad. I guess you 3 had toooo much of a good thing when she stayed with you for 4 months.
Hugs madi your bfff

ReplyDeleteLee and Phod, I am certain that Lady and Man are very proud of this repawt from the cage place... even if you feel you are letting the side down! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
That was a long stay for you two. We are glad the Lady got such a good report. But at the same time let's hope it is a while before you have to go back for another test:)

We're glad you survived your jail sentence.
ReplyDeleteDear friends,
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
We saw the most disturbing thing while you were away. It was YOUR PEOPLE, on Bertie's blog! We assumed that your people were kidnapped, because why else would they have left you for 22 days?!?!? And why else would they have gone to the place where Bertie lives, with his amazing mountains and grasses and Most Incredible Walks Ever, and now bring you with them?!? They would never do this, I am sure. So they must have been kidnapped! Did you report it to the police?
We are glad you are back and everyone is safe and returned and unkidnapped. Welcome home!
Licks,
Cobi
Hurray for a good report card....and for everybody being home!!

Oh guys, I am glads you are doin' better at the jail. Sounds like maybe you are getting more comfortable there. Butts, it is always good to be home, huh? Welcome home everyone!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
It is tough to handle those flashbacks, but we are very glad to hear that you got a good report card. SO glad you all are home together now!!
ReplyDeleteWell I'd say you got an excellent report all things considered! You did better at the kennel and the few problems were ones that are hard to NOT have all things considered. I bet Lady and Man are proud of both of you! Hopefully you won't have to be incarcerated for that long ever again but you know how humans are - they seem to think they have lives of their own!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
Good for you guys being so good. The last time Sam was in jail, he was put in solidarity too for humping. #OhThatDog
