We are going to go back a little before our jail time. We transport you back to Monday, July 23rd. The Man comes home from work (all good stories in our house start with that) to find Hailey has a red nose. She has been licking it. Lady treats it with some anti-infection cream and tells her to stop licking it.
The nose before - Rudolph |
On Tuesday July 24th, the Man comes home from work and now Lee's nose is a bloody mess. He tries a lot of things to get her to stop licking it, but she won't. The Man was working from home on Wednesday July 25th but was unable to secure a vet appointment at either of the clinics we frequent. Of course, the Man and the Lady are getting on an airplane the following evening. A plan is hatched. The Man wass scheduled to meet up with some friends near where Lady's semi-broken computer needs to be dropped off to have it repaired while she is away . . . an aside: the Lady's computer keyboard needed replacing - it stopped working after 6 months - Apple was kind enough to bust the whole thing while fixing it and Lady got to spend a lot of time with our really poor Internet trying to get everything back on or at least the basics before even having a chance to get to this post . . . back to the story - the Man is able to drive Lee in to the emergency vet clinic where he trades the dog for the computer. He took the computer for repairs while Lady and Lee hang out in emergency, with something Lady would not consider an emergency except for the fact that Lee is going to jail the kennel the next morning and Lady is leaving the country in less than 24 hours . . . . .
Dr. Hailey (the vet laughed they had the same name), was very nice. She gave Lee, who was pretty good, lots of treats. She said her best guess was Lee had just licked her nose raw. It was not infected. She gave some steroid cream to be put on. Lady and Lee were only at the vet for about an hour, which is pretty good for a visit to emergency.
Lady and Man got to leave Lee with this bloody nose (literally and figuratively) at the kennel. They did worry about it the whole time they were away a little.
In the end, the worries were for not. It has healed well!

ReplyDeleteOMD Lee, I's so glad to see your nose all better - I know that Lady and Man were worried, coz they told me all about that emergency visit!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
I wonder what caused him to lick his nose to that extent? They sure do have perfect timing!
ReplyDeleteYes we can see why the peeps would worry. Just like us doggies to have a crisis right before vacation. That will teach them not to abandon you again!😉
ReplyDeleteThank goodness your nose healed just fine, Hailey! There always seems to be a crisis at the wrong time!
ReplyDeleteSo relieved to see that Hailey's nose is now better. It sure looked sore in the photo we saw in Dunoon.
ReplyDeleteWhy do those kind of things always seem to happen right before the humans are leaving and the pups have to be boarded!!! We are glad the snooter woes all healed well, but what a nightmare with that keyboard issue.
ReplyDeleteWe saw some of your fun at Bertie's and look forward as time allows to more from you.

Oh no, that must been so stressful! It seems like something like that always happens when you are trying to leave town!
ReplyDeleteGlad the bloody nose managed to heal. As for the computer issue...ugh...technology can be such a pain...when it refuses to cooperate. Looking forward to hearing about your trip adventures.
ReplyDeleteSure glad you healed up Ok Lee. Bet you are happy to have the peeps home
