Last Wednesday, we had our second thunderstorm of the season. This is significantly fewer than we would normally have by now. The storm thankfully rolled in during the evening on my work at home day.
Miss Lee was very upset at first and ran downstairs and tried to dig her way through my office door. When she is scared she wants to either be outside or downstairs. I brought her upstairs and put on her thunder shirt and she 'settled' in the kitchen. For Hailey, she was very calm, just sitting or standing and panting.
Phod, who use to never show any real reaction to storms, has learned to be fearful from Hailey. While he has never been destructive (go back to around August 12, 2012 to see her worst damage ever), he does want to be near you and pant.
Emma is oblivious to it all, and I only got her in this picture because she was interested in what I may be cooking in the kitchen.
I spent my evening while the Man was out cooking (which is so rare) and trying to comfort my dogs. I hope we don't have too many storms (or wind, or fireworks) this season.

ReplyDeleteSending calming vibes to all at chez Lee'Phod!!! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
hugs to you all and we try to bark the sorms away from you from our side of the pond ;o)
ReplyDeleteOur paws are crossed that you have a mild summer free from storms.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't storm-free summers be nice. I hate storms too, Hailey.
ReplyDeleteWe hope the storms don't get too bad around your way.
ReplyDeleteWe had some bad thunder roll through last evening and Bentley was not happy about it. I hope my Treatibles arrive before the next storm. Have you tried them? Let me know if you are interested.
ReplyDeleteOh know sweet Hailey I understand and Phod darlin' I got my fear from mom...she is extremely fearful of tstorms. When mom was a wee girl she had been playing with her neighbor on a tire swing. Thunder started and for once mom went home when called. When she turned to wave goodbye, lightning struck the tree where her friend was still swinging. Of course mom was too young to realize the exact the consequences but her parents knew her friend was gone.
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff and mom
As Sam gets older, thunder storms and fireworks are starting to bother him too. Here's hoping there aren't too many in both our areas. Extra ear rubs for the trio.
ReplyDeleteThe learned fear is frustrating. Katy was not afraid when we got her, she just had fool moon madness. However, Bailey taught her to be afraid.
ReplyDeleteMom and I will cross our fingers and paws that there aren't too many storms or scary things this season.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
We hope the storms are infrequent as well.
ReplyDeleteI will also hope it's not a bad storm season. We had a thunder storm here on Wednesday, and I hoped that Sunny and Max would be okay. Thankfully they were. We have floor fans set up in the house, and the "white noise" helps to drown out the noise, but Sunny still wants to be outside.
ReplyDeleteOh noes. Sorry guys! If you wants you can come stay with me in my tunnel...we don't gets those noisy boomers. {{{hugs}}}
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
