Hailey, Phod and Tendra all get along. Emma had never met Tendra.
Emma decided she did not like Tendra and tried several times to attack poor Tendra (who was just minding her business across the room). Therefore, to keep everyone safe (as Tendra is a 90 lbs Lab and Emma is a 15 lbs Terrier - emphasis on Terror part), we kept them separate all weekend.
Lady moved the crate upstairs and Emma was in it, or in the bedroom resting with the Man (who is still recovering). She got to partake in all the treats and was taken outside multiple times a day too. She didn't love it, but she was safe and it was more relaxing for everyone.
At one point, when Emma was being put back into the crate, Hailey insisted on going in with her and the two spend at least an hour and a half together (napping at times). It was very sweet!

ReplyDeleteNow then Hailey, it was one of two things; you wanted to show solidarity with your cousin and let her know it was all about her good... or you thought maybe there was bit too much individual attention going on and you wanted a bit of that.
I'll go with the first! &*> Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
that was so super nice professor lee to keep emma company.... you are the best. it's a challenge to have to separate dogs in the house... we had this with our two huskies and the whft of my parents (it was the terrier who attacked the two) ...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a "chilled" Easter weekend round at your place ha ha!
ReplyDeleteYou are the most wonderful hostess, Hailey! Bless you♥
ReplyDeleteOur daughter's dog Trudie was here last week. Toby doesn't really like her but they tolerate each other. You were wise to separate the dogs if they had a potential for conflict :)
ReplyDeleteaaww togetherness. <3 XOXO - Bacon
ReplyDeleteThat was so sweet of Hailey to hang out with Emma for a while. We're glad to hear everyone survived the visit.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhh mom always said when sis was little it never was a good play date when there were a total of 3 little girls. Seems the same with K9's MOM emphasis on 'terror'!!!
ReplyDeleteWe hope Man is up an feeling better each day
Hugs madi and mom

ReplyDeleteSounds like two is company but three is a crowd too much for Emma. Glad there were no fireworks on your Easter with the sequestration.
ReplyDeleteAwww, we love that you did that, Hailey. Our human sister has a little shih tzu and he is a bit of a terror too. He can't come here because he might get too wild for us:)

ReplyDeleteThat is very sweet that Hailey wanted to stay with Emma. Living with Pierre, we definitely understand the attitude of a Terrier-ist! BOL!
ReplyDeleteThat is very sweet that Hailey wanted to keep Emma company for a while....!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
It really is a sweet thing when dogs connect to one another and get along. And of course, I totally get the terrier-ist thing. But I've had a Golden or two that could give the feistiest of terriers a run for their money! **Yikes!! :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteThat was very sweet of Hailey! She made our humom's heart melt xx
the critters in the cottage xo
What's this about Terriers & attitude?! ;)
ReplyDeleteEmma, I understand. You simply felt it necessary to establish to everyone, especially to the new comer who is top dog.
Or, perhaps a nice quiet weekend to yourself & furriend Hailey was the plan all along 💜
