While my girl is in a good place overall, one of the habits we have not been successful in breaking is counter surfing. Every night after dinner (and sometimes while we are eating and sometimes after breakfast) you will find Hailey in the kitchen licking the counters. We call her off, we tell her to sit etc. but this doesn't stop her from going back.
As a good blogger, I made sure to capture some pictures yesterday after our pancake breakfast (one of her favourites), before sending her out.

you are right... good bloggers always take a photo first no matter what happened ;O)))
ReplyDeleteI wish I could pre-wash the dishes too, Hailey. You are a lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteGood girl, Hailey! Momma made me stop juuuuust before I got some yummy looking stuffed jalapenos off the counter yesterday. :(

ReplyDeleteDo they not understand, Hailey, that dogs can suck the very molecules of flavour from nothingness??? Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
My patron saint Old Charisma used to climb up on the dining room chairs and eat food right off the plates. One day one of the humans put hot pepper powder on a plate of food. That worked pretty well. But so did telling the kids not to leave food or dirty dishes sitting unattended on the table.
ReplyDeleteYou're a lucky dog, H. I'd give anything to be able to counter surf. #shortlegs I have to settle for floor-licking. Not nearly as yummy.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,
Cupcake
Oh...to have long legs...sigh. We're envious.
ReplyDeleteDog tongue...better than Frigidaire's prewash cycle.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you can reach the counters. We can barely reach the table.
ReplyDeleteI will give this to Stanley for some tips. Unfortunately I can't reach the counters.

Mom had good luck years ago putting mousetraps along the edge of the counters. She may need to do that again as Misty and Timber love to clean the counter.

Miss Juliet has mastered the art of jumping up and grabbing a corner of foil...and slowly P U L L I N G it off of the counter and splattering the food ALL over the floor. Her and Romey had quite the feast one night! Grrrrrr!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou all are so funny, what I fur kids will do for

BOL!! Nice job Hailey!! I'm too short to counter surf :( I'm pretty sure I'm missing out on a lot of goodies! I ask Nymeria to counter surf for me but she says she doesn't want to get in trouble. What a goodie goodie.
