Before Christmas a friend and I met for coffee. We decided to check out the Feline Cafe. It is a cafe, that has a cat room which holds cats from a local rescue who are looking for homes.
There are rules about interacting with the cats. No one under the age of 12 is allowed in. They only allow a certain number of people into the cat room at a time. They ask you not to pick up the animals or disturb sleeping ones. Flash photography is forbidden. The cats do have a way out of this room away from people, if they wish
Here are some of the cats.
This little kitten had a great time hunting.
Here was my favourite cat, Othello. He had arrived at the cafe the night before. While he was active, checking the place out, watching all the people, he was very sweet. If the Man would not have had my head, I would have brought him home!
Three cats in the bed and the little one said . . . .
This one didn't move from this chair the whole time we were there (which was like 2.5 hours as it wasn't busy!)
Reminded me of my angel Bagheera!
This one, Flower, had an adoption pending, and was my friend's favourite cat.
More with Othello.
While the beverages were a little more expensive then other cafes, I think it was totally worth it. I loved spending time with the cats and look forward to going back!
What a wonderful place to visit and spend time with the kitties!
ReplyDeleteOthello seems like a super sweet kitty!

ReplyDeleteMom liked Othello and Flower a lot too. That cafe is a great idea - gives peeps a good chance to see the personalities of the kitties in the hopes of giving them a good home.

ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea - joy all around! YAM xx
What fun! A "feline cafe" was being highlighted on the news a few weeks ago - I'd love to go! They're for a great cause, and who knows who/what you'll meet?
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea! I love Othello too. Perhaps you can talk the Man into visiting and meeting him!
ReplyDeleteI just read that there's a "Dog Pub" in my state. It has an off-leash dog park with the patio seating all around it. It has dog foods as well as human ones. It sounds super fun but they failed to say where it is. I think I need to do some research!
This is such a great idea
