Updated: Ear Troubles by Phod

Dear Friends,

As you know I am a very good boy. I listen. I love my my people and my LeeLee and my Precious.

I have a bit of a problem with being itchy. Lady and Man changed my food to a yummy fish food and that seemed to help a little. However, I have one itchy spot that is very itchy. It is my right ear.

I have had ear infections before and Lady and Man have done their best to keep my ears clean, but this right ear has been very itchy. I have itched it so much Lady says it is now a bloody mess. So now when I am home alone, I must wear the lamp shade. It is not even Halloween!

I am the saddest boy ever.

Pod

Editor's note: One day of the cone while we were at work and you can already see his ear healing. I am hoping he will only need to wear it for a few days.

Editor's update: This morning it was very swollen so the Man and Phod are off to the vet. Paws crossed.

Oh dear Phod... but surely if the skin heals it will feel much less trouble some already - and then it can be found what it actually causing the itchies and the V.E.T. can attempt to solve the real problem? Just think how good it will feel to not be itchy at all!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-auntyxxx

  11. Oh no! The Cone of Doom. I had to wear it when my face was itchy. All the scratching made an infection. I had cream to put on and pills to take, but the cone was the only thing that allowed the skin to heal and get strong again. I hope you heal quickly, P. The vet told Mom NOT to take mercy on me with the cone. Just put it on and leave it on. It worked. Plus, I thought it was an outfit, so I didn't mind wearing it...

  12. Poor Phod - ear troubles are horrible. Our vet says allergies are really bad this year so maybe that is what is going on with Phod. We hope the vet was able to provide something to give him some relief.

  13. Oh Phod, I have been through the same thingie! Mine was so bad, the ER vettie said I would have to have the surgicals! YIKES! butts, Ma and the vettie put me on the antibiotics and AntiFungal ear flush, and a HUGE bottle of ear medicine to use as Mom sees fit. Now my bad ear is a-okay, and no surgical needed! I gets my ears cleaned with the flush once a week, or more if needed. I get my whole ear canal filled with medicine when the start to itch or turn pink. I hopes your peeps and your vettie can find a solution ~ I knows this is no funs! Paws crossed for you, and I will send you tons of POTP and AireZens!!!!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥
