Our friend's at Barking from the Bayou told us about a special remembrance that is happening today. Today is Remember Me Thursday. To learn a lot more go to their site here: https://remembermethursday.org
Today we are asking everyone who reads our blog to take a minute to remember all the animals who are in shelters waiting for homes and to remember the 2.7 million who did not live to find a home last year.
We were both lucky. We were found by loving rescues who kept us safe and warm and loved until we found our forever home. We will think of those who were not as lucky today. We also ask our readers to consider rescuing a shelter animal or finding other ways to help those waiting for homes.
Thank you for remembering with us.
We are honoring sweet shelter pets and rescues today too! All of us were lucky to get our forevers and wish that for EVERY PET EVERYWHERE.

ReplyDeleteWe remember and are so glad you found your peeps...Jakey and I thank our lucky stars every day we found ours!

Oh, we did not know about this day! We bow our heads for all the boxers we know LBR couldn't help last year, and all the other pups suffering in shelters instead of living in homes like us.
ReplyDeleteI wish every pup was lucky enough to find their forever home like the two of you did.
ReplyDeleteWe will cross our paws and light a candle for good things to happen to all the rescues everywhere - there are just so many. We do try to make a regular donation of money or food or blankets/towels to our local shelters to help even if it is only in a small way.

We feel so sorry for the animals at the shelter...and wish we could take more. So we donate things to make them happy.
ReplyDeleteWe were surprised to learn how few pets in US homes came from shelters (less than 1/3). This is such an important message to get out. We purr that every shelter animal finds a forever home.
ReplyDeleteNot a day goes by that I don't think of the past few rescues we saved from horrible situations and have been blessed for it. Sadly the need is far greater than the number of rescuers and hope this campaign leads to fur-ever homes for shelter pups and kitties.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image for an impawtent message!
