First: People asked what was up with Phod's ears. It seems my boy has some sort of environmental allergies as he is getting gunky and itchy ears. It is not in deep so it is not an infection. As the kennel didn't clean them, they got very dirty looking and itchy. We have them almost all cleared up again.
Second: Phod's long weekend did not get off to a good start. On Friday night, when we got home from work we took the pups out to play. Phod 'twisted' his ankle while playing.

We noticed when he was 3 legged dogging |
|
"Really Man, it is ok, I can still play ball." |
|
"Do you really have to check it?" |
|
Limping back to the house |
It didn't seen serious enough to rush to the vet so we iced it and rested it for the weekend, neither are things he enjoyed.
|
"I hate this." |
|
"It is fine, I can totally play ball." |
While he was very sad to miss out on walks and playing fetch (we did let him carry Precious out once per day), the next day he had very little limp and by Monday he didn't appear to be limping at all. We are slowly allowing more exercise in and are monitoring how he does.
Phod I hope all things are fine and you are back to 100% k9... I hate the ear checks too and I wish I would know the trick to skip that procedere... we use vetericyn for my ears and by now they look mighty fine, no allergies nor infections... I knock on wood 3 times.... or 87 times ;O)
ReplyDeletePoor Phod. We understand the ear thing. As much as Angel Barkley loved to get into the water (usually dirty) the ears were a constant battle.
ReplyDeleteOh nose dear Phod, poorly ears followed by a poorly paw!!!!
ReplyDeleteGet all better soon sweet fella, you nose Precious needs regular excise and must be missing his games of fetch with you!

We hope he's all right. Once I had a thorn in my paw. Ouch! We cocker spaniels can sympathize when it comes to ear problems. I've been lucky so far. But every cocker before me in this house has had terrible ear infections. Hope Phod feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that he is feeling and walking around better. It is so hard when one of our babies is hurting.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your ankle, Phod! I've hurt mine a time or two. The icing is SO annoying, but I don't mind the extra snuggle time!
ReplyDeleteBummer about your ears and you ankle, Phod. Thank goodness your peeps are on it! They'll get you fixed up in no time!
ReplyDeletePoor kid, hope he is back to playing ball soon!
ReplyDeletePoor Phod. Roxy occasionally sprains something and has to miss out on walks and she's miserable. We empathise with you, boyo, and hope it doesn't happen again.
ReplyDeleteOh, P. What a brave little soldier - ears and paws and ICE! Yikes! We are glad you are on the road to recovery. Be careful out there, buddy.
ReplyDeleteLove and licks,

Poor Phod. We know what a bummer it is to not be allowed to play. We hope you keep feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHi hi hi! Ojo here! Oh no! Hurt legs are the WORST! The people never let us play when we have hurt legs! Why not??? I am glad you are feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteHope he's feeling better and all healed up.
ReplyDeleteSending oodles of poodles healing thoughts you are back to 100% now.
ReplyDeleteI have seen both of my dogs happily hop around on three legs, just in order to continue playing ball! We're glad Phod is recovering from his injury.
