Mischief Monday - A Special Treat

Last week, the Man presented the almost empty peanut butter jar to each of the dogs.
Man - I don't think I am suppose to have this.
If you are sure. I know Santa is watching. I don't want to get on the naughty list.

I am worried to eat this. I can't enjoy doing something that is kind of bad.

I have no problem with it.

Did you ever get a treat you thought might be bad?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

A great big, special thank you to our Auntie K and Ryan for the following:

First she had this made for Lady, we think we look pawsome!
A Lee and Phod statue!

Look at the perfect colours - Lee's brown legs and Phod's colouring

A tired Lee is the best Lee!

Phod worried that Lee is gonna steal his ball!

For us:

Guess who got naughty and who got nice

hmmmm, how do you get into this

Wow look at the cool new rope toy!

Lee making a huge mess with her cookie (don't worry, she cleaned it all up!)

Dear Santa - By Zaphod

Dear Santa,

Let me thank you for all the good stuff you brought last year. I don't remember what it was, cause I really only live in the present. But I know I loved it all.

Hailey said I need to ask for things this year. I am not sure what to ask for Santa because I really have everything a boy could want. I have people who love me and never hurt me. I have a great Lee who plays with me lots. I have a Baggy and Nin I love. I have lots of good things to eat. I get lots of treats. I get to play fetch a lot. I mean really, what else could I ask for.

Hailey says in spite of this, it is custom to ask for things. So I have thought long and hard and this is what I want:

You to help the people who help dogs like me escape abuse and neglect. I hope you can help them so they can help every dog find a home half as great as mine.

I hope you can use some of your magic to keep my cats healthy. They are old (both are 18) and I want to have them forever.

I want you to get Lee some more puzzles. She is good at them and she is good at sharing with me.

I want you to bring Lady and Man 87 million dollars so they can stay home all the time and not leave me (even though I am a very good guard dog, I would like to have them home more).

If you are going to bring anything for me, you can bring me anything I can catch. I love fetch. Also if you could warm it up a little, I would appreciate that. It has been about -26 C (-15 F) the past couple days and I can't be out too long playing fetch.

Thank you Santa. I will leave you some milk and cookies and I will put them high enough that Lee can't get them.

Love
Zaphod Beeblebrox

Feline Friday - Dear Santa by Baggy

Dear Santa,

I already got my Christmas gift, the stupid Lady said she wasn't dressing me up this year. She said I had earned that after 18  years and 8 months. She said if I make it to 19 years and 8 months, she was dressing me up. That isn't giving me stuff to live for.

This is what I want:
More treats. Not getting them is annoying.
The dogs to stop running with me in the basement. It annoys me.
The dogs to never sit in my chair. It annoys me.
The dogs to not sniff my butt. It annoys me.
I want to be able to jump on things. Not being able to annoys me.
More sunbeams to sleep in. Cloudy days annoy me.
The dogs to remember I let them live. I could kill them in their sleep. It is my house.

Thanks Santa,

Bagheera

Note: The pictures are from Christmas 2011
I am looking regal

Lady calls this my Grinch pose

Training Thursday - A New Puzzle

Last weekend, while out finishing my Christmas shopping I found this:

As I know Santa plans on bringing a lot of gifts, I decided to give it to them right away. [Also we have leant 2 of our other puzzles to our cousin cats Loopy and Panda to try so we are down some puzzles].

Pros:
- I like that at Winner's it was only $15 (nice price)

-I like that it has 2 different types of spots (slid spot and a flip flap)

-I personally prefer the wood to the plastic. I find them to be sturdier than the plastic (and Lee has never tried to chew the wood ones)

-I like that the holes for treats are fairly large so I can use a variety of treats

-Hailey really seems to enjoy it and worked really hard to figure those flaps out!

Phod coming to help

Cons:
-Like all puzzle toys, Hailey figured it out fairly quickly

-It does spin on the floor when Hailey was trying to open it- this may be annoying for some dogs, but we liked it because it made her work harder

While it is still new and we haven't used it too many times, we give it 3.5 paws out of 4. We think it is good value for the money, but worry it may become too easy too quickly.

 _______________
Card Count: In the past 2 days we have gotten 6 - so 41 now for us.
2 still for the people (Lady says there is one she hasn't opened a 3rd as it is with a gift - we think she is stretching for more cards).
2 for all of us

Dear Santa - by Hailey

Dear Santa,

I would like to start this letter by looking at the definitions of naughty and nice.

According to dictionary.com naught means disobedient and mischievous. Disobedient means refusing to obey. I never refuse to obey, rather I obey in my own time. I am always going to do what the Lady and Man want, just not always on their schedule. Also, there are times I really don't hear them or understand what they are saying. I can't help it if they are not loud enough or don't speak my language. We won't talk about mischievous as I just don't think it applies (please don't go and look that up). I think if you want to see some naughty dogs, you should go to dog shaming. Those are naughty dogs.

Now on to nice. Here are some of the things it means: pleasing, agreeable, delightful, amiably, pleasant and kind. I think these are the words that really describe me. Look at how many people enjoy my blog and adventures every day. Clearly I am a pleasing delight. I am kind as I am nice to my cats and Phody and I share the blog with them. I make my people smile all the time. And sometimes the things I do are really to be kind to them. For example, I recently chewed the camera to try and get the Lady a new one. What is more kind and thoughtful than that.

Now that we have agreed that I am on the nice list this is what I would like:
Belly rubs
To always win Queen of the bed
Lots of treats
Lots of puzzles
Lots of walks
More treats
More belly rubs
Not to have to share the bed (I don't like to be touched when sleeping)
More patience for my Lady (she tries but sometimes she needs more)

I also hope you can help all those dogs who don't have homes find great ones. I was on death row once, and I know this is very scary.

Thank you Santa, you are the best.

Love your Hailey Girl
