Nature Friday - Fall Foliage

Thank you to our dear friend Rosy for hosting this hop which allows us to share a beautiful fall walk in our backyard. Ok, technically it is not our backyard, it is behind our backyard and is our neighbour's property. However, they are wonderful people and have no problem with us exploring the about 1 km (.66 mile) loop that runs behind our house.

Let's get started!

The pictures we are sharing here were taken 7 days apart. Look at the difference this makes in a tree (that is actually in our yard!) Lady thinks it will peak in the next week. Stay tuned for our annual picture by this tree when it does!

Now let's give you a sample of the trail.

Isn't it pretty?

Now one last foliage picture for this week. This is standing on the road at the end of the driveway looking toward the lake. This is one of Lady's favourite views this time of year.  City people drive out here to look at our trees. Aren't we lucky we don't have to go anywhere to enjoy them?

We hope you enjoyed some of our autumn pictures!

  4. That's the one thing we miss living in Florida... The changing of seasons and the beautiful trees. NY always had such beautiful colors.

  5. A few years ago, at this time in October, I flew into Ottawa, to visit family in Williamsburg and to pick up a puppy. Looking out the window, as we approached Ottawa, the trees looked beautiful—much like the last photo.

  6. That's so pretty! Our trees don't do that in Texas. One day all the leaves just turn brown and fall off.

  11. Oh, that last photo is just glorious. We get pretty colors here too, but Mom really misses the beautiful autumns she had in New England.

  13. How very beautiful ... of course you are much farther North than we, our leaves have barely begun to turn. Tis the loveliest time of the year.
