Trouble Tuesday - Near Miss - A Dramatic Recreation

The scene a 5:30 am walk. It kind of looked like this out.

Suddenly there was a rustle  in the bush and we saw something black. Lady slowed down. The dogs got excited.

Then at the end of the road chaos ensued. It looked something like this thanks to Lady's headlight and movement.

Out of the field came a little skunk. It was about 3 feet from us when it popped out. The dogs went crazy and with all her strength Lady went backwards, dragging two crazy dogs behind her. Once the skunk was safely out of sight, the walk continued.

It was a way to get the heart going in the morning!

  10. Hailey and Zaphod, This may be difficult for you to believe, but I once visited a lady who kept a skunk as a pet! Yes. The skunk's name was "Desert Flower" and she was no longer able to make a stink because her scent glands had been removed. Still, she was somewhat dangerous. When Desert Flower began rummaging in my purse, I quickly grabbed made a grab for it, intending to take it away. The owner said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

  12. Skunk! Yikes. Mom threatens me about them every time I snoop in a hole or a shrub. I have never seen one that close up, though! Whew. Thank goodness you're all OK.
