Mischief Monday - Our Worst Nightmare Come True - by Lee

We can hardly believe we have to write this and we are hardly strong enough to. You are not going to believe what happened last week.

Around midnight on Wednesday am, Lady and Man were awoken to the sound of Phod's tummy grumbling. In Lady's dreams it was a baby or a kitten and as she was waking up she couldn't believe we weren't at the patio freaking out.

As she lay there trying to go back to sleep, while Phod's stomach was gurgling, Lady was scared. She was scared because Phod has not been eating all his breakfast everyday for about 5 weeks (he eats fine later in the day) and the last time she heard gurgling like this was with angel Loki, while he was dying.

Then out of the dark she says to Man "Did we feed them dinner?"

Man replied with "No, I don't think so."

Helping Lady earlier that evening clean the kitchen

That is correct on Tuesday evening our people forgot to feed us dinner. So the loud noise of Phod's belly was him starving. Lady said she was shocked I put up with this. Usually if it is more that 15 minutes late, I am throwing the bowl around.

Lady got up, and gave us a sad midnight buffet. Sad, because the bucket was almost empty and it was not a full meal. Not only did she starve us, she then gave us subpar food. Further, she said we were not to get use to the midnight buffet. It was not going to become a thing.

Anyway, after we ate Phod's tummy was quiet and we all went back to sleep.

The Lady and Man got a serious F for this move.  Lady says it is because of the pandemic. I personally think she has no one to blame for this but herself.

Have your peeps ever forgotten to feed you?

  3. Yes. Quite frequently. AND, can you believe, she blames ME for not reminding her by licking my bowl like Hamish the Westie used to. All I can say is thank the Lord for Phod's noisy stomach. Why, otherwise you might have starved to death...
    Toodle pip!

  4. You scared me to death while I was reading this and I was so excited when I found out phod okay I didn't get as upset about the no feeding as I would have. The words gurgling stomach just made my stomach hurt. No we have never forgotten to feed the dogs. Because they don't let us so I'm thinking it was not mom's fault because you were supposed to let her know Haley by throwing the bowl around. All of our dogs have always known that at 3 p.m. in the afternoon if we didn't get up and fix their food they come and stare in our eyes until we get up and fix it. It's good news that Mom has good ears and could hear the gurgling tummy and figured out what it was

  5. As long as Walter is alive we will never miss a meal. He is such a creature of habit that he would hound our pawrents until they realized their mistake. Millie, on the other hand, would never let us know if we miss a meal. Glad to hear you finally got your dinner.

  7. So sorry Phod and Lee. Sadly yes, the mama has 'forgotten' us but we managed to survive.
Hope the meals become more consistent on a daily basis.
    Your friends,

  13. What the what??? Forgetting to give dinner is like forgetting to BREATHE! That is crazy behavior. Thank goodness for Phod's belly for sounding the alarm! Midnight snacks are the best. I say you DO get used to it - for a few nights anyway. It's only right! #blamethepandemic

  14. Oh my, you poor doggies! But my peeps have had trouble finding my usual doggie food that I've been eating all my life lately too. The new stuff is OK, but makes me poop a lot more! Hope you pups don't miss any more meals.
