In Pursuit of Flavours

This month Lady has gotten it together enough to participate in The Pursuit of Flavours blog hop. Thanks to Da Twins for emailing her privately to tell her what we were cooking this month! We are cooking salad!

It should be noted (and Lady should be far more embarrassed about this then she is) that Lady doesn't cook. Man does like 99.9% of the human feeding. However, Lady does have some basic skills and can follow a recipe.

I can't believe she can barely feed herself . . . .

During this quarantine (we are at week 12 at stay at home), Lady has actually mastered something. She now knows how to make potato salad. Yes, you are reading that correctly at almost 315 years old, the Lady didn't know how to make a potato salad.

This is her recipe (based on what she read on the internet).

Boil until still firm the amount of potatoes you want
Finely dice celery (if you have it), a bell pepper, onion
Add enough mayo to cover it
Add salt and pepper to taste
Mix it all up

Here is a picture of some leftovers from the salad she made on the weekend

If Lady can cook this and Man can enjoy eating it, anyone can!

  1. Well done Lady!
(Gail was brought up in a household where salad always meant a bowl of lettuce, tomato, cucumber and, if her mother was feeling really adventurous, hard boiled egg).

  3. Good job! And tell your momma not to feel bad. My momma cooks lots, but she's never made potato salad. She says it's always at the BBQ already, so she's never had to make it!

  6. That is a most delish looking potato salad. I have never put carrots or g. pepper it in but I can certainly see how it would be yummy. I like a crunch in my food.

  7. It looks very yummy to me! Mom puts hard boiled eggs in hers. We've never tried bell pepper, which makes it more colorful!

  10. Thanks for sharing your recipe. It sounds pretty easy to make and look to do it this weekend. My mom used to make a wonderful potato salad but never got the recipe. We hope you are doing well during your 12th week of quarantine.

  13. Had to laugh. I don't cook either. The Runner does all of it, except coffee. That's why I don't participate in this blog hop - but your potato salad sounds like I could actually make it!

  14. Good Job!! Mama loves potato salad and is actually making some fur dinner tonight. Her puts a little mustard in hers as well and celery salt/onion powder in place of veggies cause Brudder and Daddy are picky butts ;)

  15. I like the simplicity of it. You know I have made this myself. If, in a hurry or just plain don't have the ingredients but MUST HAVE potato salad, this is very tasty.
