Be Safe

We would like to express our sincere sympathy goes out to the 6 families in Langley B.C. whose dogs lives were cut short. For those of you who may not have heard this story, a dog walker has been accused of leading to the dogs death by leaving them in a hot car. You can read the story here.  It is such a tragic accident.

I found this reminder online and am sharing it!

If you haven't heard, there is a great auction going on to help The Baby. You can click here to learn more.

We will be off the grid until next week as Lady goes to Chicago for a conference. Lady hopes to use some of her spare time to catch up with all our friends (she has been crazy busy trying to get ready to be away for the weekend). She does have free wifi in her hotel!

We wish all our American friend's a wonderful Memorial Day!

Be Safe everyone!

  1. we have a stack of similar posters we keep in the car and if we ever see a dog left in the car we stick we under the wipers.....last year we called the police twice to dogs in distress. Being in a big hunting area dogs in cars are common but most are in the back of truck - untethered which also freaks the Mom out

  2. Oh how sad is that, I couldn't read the whole story, I cried bitter tears for the dogs and their families. I hope that all people will follow your advice, it's better the dog stays at home than he has to wait in the car. Even some minutes in a hot car can be too much. I hope your Lady has a great time in Chicago, maybe she will meet Sugar or Dolly?

  4. That is terribly sad. How can a dog walker be so stupid? We feel for the poor families. We are never ever left in the car.
    Have a tremendous Thursday,
    Best wishes Molly.

  11. That is just so sad, from a dog walker of all people!! How can they not know how horrible it is to leave a dog in a warm/hot car. Not to mention with so many dogs in there any air would have been used up so much faster.

I hope they file charges against her and certainly not "mischief" charges.

  15. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! That is a very sad story, and our people have been hearing lots about it because that's kind of sort of close to where we live. It was a terrible accident, and the Dog Walker will live with that for the rest of her life. It does not excuse the tragedy, but many are looking for ways to forgive.

But never forget. Like you said, Dogs and hot cars are no good! We send our thoughts to those Dogs, and to their people, every day. Sometimes I feel their spirits float by on the breeze when I am high on a mountain top...

  22. That is awful. hope he gets a tough sentence. Even today it was quite warm, around 25c, and daddy needed to run an errand, so mummy and I stayed in the car. But it was too hot even with the windows open, so we opened the doors too. We were only there for 10 mins max.

  23. What a senseless tragedy....a dog walker should know better, and then to lie about it as well. Ugh. You have to have your head pretty deep in the sand to not know about the dangers of this these days. But apparently a lot of people still don't, so we have to continue to spread the word. I've never taken my dogs when I go anywhere where I'll be out of the car for more than two minutes. What fun is it for them to sit in the car anyway....I've always thought they'd be happier at home.
