Waiting in the waiting room of OVH |
Lady: I am sorry Hailey, but you were due for your checkup and we needed your heart worm and tick treatment.
Lee: I would rather get the bugs then go there. It was horrible.
Lady: I know you were a little nervous, but you did the best job ever at the vet, I am so proud of you.
Lee: I was afraid if I was bad you would leave me forever. Sunday night to make sure you didn't sneak out of bed and leave me I laid on your legs all night. Did you notice?
Lady: Yes I did. I know that going to camp was a little stressful, but I know that you had a good time. Now, let's get back to your checkup. You had lost a little weight but are "perfect" at 35 lbs. I am happy that I am feeding you the right amount and you are getting enough exercise.
Lee: I look great! People in the waiting room commented on how pretty I am . . . .
Lady: You are very pretty and you were too busy eating cookies to even notice you were getting a shot.
Lee: I got a shot? Really? I think you are making that up. Let's not talk about what the vet did after he gave me all those treats. It was horrible.
Lady: I know your rectal exam was not pleasant, but you have been licking yourself a lot and I wanted Woody to check to make sure everything was ok. You don't have any physical problems, your glands are small, so while it could be some sort of food allergy, it is more likely obsessive licking.
Lee: If you humans could lick yourself you would understand.
Lady: O Hailey! Overall you got a clean bill of health and we got sent home with your and Phody's Revolution. Usually, Woody says to start it June 1, but because of where we live and the number of ticks he has seen already this year, we started it today. We will also be doing a daily tick inspection. Hopefully I can pair that with your teeth brushing and create a routine for you.
Lee: I am ok if you don't. I don't care if it is healthy.
Lady: Well, since my goal is to make sure you live until 10 Hailey, these are the things I am going to do.
Lee: I just want to know one thing, why didn't Phody have to be tortured too?
Lady: He will be, he is due for his check up in the summer. I don't think I can handle you both at the vet!
PS: The weather is silly here. Last week it was over 20C and yesterday we had some snow. This morning it is very frosty. We want nice weather!
Glad all was OK at the vets. We are having crazy weather too and today they predict snow up North. The weather is nuts. Two bad Summers already we need a good one. Have a terrific Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We're so glad to hear that your trip to the vet went well. You can relax now, it's over! You got a shot and didn't even notice? Wow, you're one tough cookie. Congrat's on being so healthy :)

I never got no treats at the vets! Dang it!
ReplyDeleteLovies, Miss Mindy
Oh good girl Lee! Shiner also licks herself obsessively, so she says she understands. Well, mostly these days I'm sure she does it because she's itchy. I think we may finally be over our wonky weather, but who knows.
ReplyDeleteOUr weather is really weird the other night it was only 32 at night and guess what today it is in the 90's ,,,,,just what is going on...now to your vet visit. We NEVER EVER get treats at our vet, i think he really dispises us cos we aren't cows or horses (he likes big animals) and we always feel our shots....geeze...we also are fighting the ticks here....maybe cos of so much rain and weird weather they are pretty bad. Mom found one hidden on my little leg last night!! Bathes for all of us tonight. We take trifexis and it doesn't kill ticks so we are at a loss....
ReplyDeleteYou do look just great!
Stella Rose
you poor thing! I had to go to the vet today too because my allergies flared up!! It must be that time of year! My vet first thought it was due to food, now he thinks it is seasonal!
ReplyDeleteLove, Cody
Aww Lee you poor little nervous thing, Kirby feels your pain! But you did get some nice compliments!!!
ReplyDeleteOh the vet thing is just one of those horrible experiences we must endure I'm afraid.....once a year isn't so awful - in spite of the stuff they do to us when we're there. Sigh. Sounds like you were VERY brave, Lee. As for your weather - it does sound silly - ours is a bit silly too but not SNOW-silly....just "why does spring keep coming and going" silly. Are things ever ever ever going to be PERFECT? A guy has to wonder!
ReplyDeleteKitty Hugs, Sammy
Congratulations on a clean bill of health! You are very pretty indeed. You look like my friend's dog, but he's orange, not black!
ReplyDeleteGetting loves and treats is the best thing about going to the vets! You sure look pretty in your pic
ReplyDeleteGreat vet visit! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteLee, it's over for another year!!! Yay! Congrats on your good results. Now it those ticks just stay away....
ReplyDeleteWe three go together BUT, two of us have to wait in the car because SHE can't handle three inside. But, SHE gets a discount with three. BOL!
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Glad it went well!

Glad to hear you are doing good. My vet gives me baby food to lick and then they tell me afterwords that I got a shot too. I didn't believe it either.
