Mischief Monday - One Recovered - One Adventuring

As mentioned on Thursday, Hailey was not happy when she returned from her dental surgery. When I went near her, she would growl. This lasted about 24 hours.

On Thursday evening, she was on the settee, and I sat on the stool in front of her, hands back and said "Hailey, are you done being mad at me?"  Instead of growling she leaned forward and gave me a kiss on the nose. Peace was restored. The only time she growled at me for the next few days was when I put her in a sweater before going out in cold weather (-21C/-6F). I hope the second isn't as grumpy after his procedure this week.

Sunday morning, we were out for a short walk, thanks to the cold temperatures. When we returned, all the business was not finished so I let the dogs off leash. Lee was good and stayed around. Phod, went into the bush between our place and Callie's to finish business and then wandered over to the neighbours. When I saw him on their deck, I put Lee inside and went to get him.

Of course, I couldn't see him, so went home to get dressed more appropriately for a jaunt through the woods. As I was approaching the house, I have a very playful dog waiting for me in the driveway! He was acting like he had been there the whole time and I had just wandered off. What a boy!

Nature Friday - A Walk With Us

Last Friday, Lady shared the Christmas walk she took without us. On the 28th, before all the rain came and the snow was still beautiful, Lady took us with her.

She tried something different. Hailey on leash and Phod off leash. The snow was deep enough (especially off the trail) she didn't think he would run off, and if he did, she could easily track him. Overall, this went very well, even if the little black dog was a bit frustrated she wasn't always out in front. The biggest problem Lady had, besides an issue with her snowshoe, was some dogs kept digging up turkey poop to eat!

It is stunning

Recently someone, we think Nobby, asked if we would be hosting our annual when will the snow be gone contest. The answer is, of course! Details will come before spring!

Thanks to Rosy for hosting this hop!

Tooth Be Gone - By Lee

Dear pals,

Lady is having to help me write this as I am still very much under the influence of the drugs I got today.  After 5 months of waiting and one delayed appointment (thanks Covid), I had my dental work done.

Resting at home after

The vet said I did great. My blood work before the procedure all looked great, especially for my age. My dental X-ray showed a little bone loss, but for the most part everything looked great. One of my little front teeth was a little loose so my vet removed it. I also had a little common growth on my neck that was getting bigger. I can't remember the name of what it was (it didn't seem important), but it is nothing serious, my vet removed it and in 14 days, Lady or Man need to pull a stitch out. They also cut my nails.

Being returned to Lady

It was a terrible day, and I am very, very mad at Lady for taking me. I am sort of growly at her, but not so growly at the Man. I am not in pain, I just don't feel good and I am not that hungry. I may be feeling a little sick to my stomach

Anyway, Lady says I am going to be fine. Phod wants to say he also had a terrible day, worrying about me. He did not like being left at home. Lady tells him next Wednesday is his turn.

That is a little personal Phod

I have to go lie down and complain some more and make my Lady feel terrible for providing me the best medical care she can.

Also, please send some love to Aunt C and her family because yesterday, their beloved cat Panda went to the bridge.  Panda was a very affectionate cat and very much like our angel Nin. You would take her off your lap multiple times and then realize she was there again! She will be greatly missed.

Trouble On A Tuesday - Emma's Visit

 Dear pals,

While the weather kept Uncle Chris and cousin Emma from visiting on Christmas, they were able to come up to spend New Year's with us.

Basically the people played games and ate too much and Emma stole all our toys and spot on the couch.

While it was nice to have them visit, it was nice to have them leave too!

Mischief Monday - Celebrating Without Us

Last Thursday, the weather was finally cleared up enough for Lady and Man to drive the 1.5 hours to see Grammie and the Big Guy and Aunt C and the kids and Uncle Chris. We did not get to go. We had to stay home and guard the house.

We did an ok job as a parcel guy wouldn't leave a parcel for Lady (he came back the next day) and we made sure the big mouse only peed on the blanket in front of the fire.

While we want to be very mad, we can only be a little mad because Grammie sent a little something home for us. She sent one home for Emma too. We got new babies!

We think it is likely a good thing we got the babies before the pee was found . . .  we may have had to wait for them.
