Dear pals,
I have developed a new habit that is resulting in extra treats, so I will share it.
Step 1: Don't eat all your breakfast when they put it down. Eat no more than a third.
Step 2: stand and stare at your Lady or your Man eating breakfast. Make sure you look really hungry.
Step 3: the power of the sad eyes will kick in and you will get some human food.
Try it and let me know if it works for you!
oooh that is not easy... but we try... ;O)))
ReplyDeleteIn our home, it only works with Man, never with Lady.
ReplyDeleteOh Lee, you are so lucky. It never ever works with Gail (except when we are outdoors and having a picnic) so I have given up trying. She is so hard hearted...
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!

ReplyDeleteCrikey Lee - you have that one nailed down!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Eating with the parents is part of the food plan. All of our dogs have done this because we started with the very first one way back in 1985. The dog gets fed first the dog eats all their food then the dog sits between our chairs and he gets two to three bites of whatever we have. We deduct the calories we feed from our meals from the calories they get in their food so that they stay the same weight. Most people don't like to do this because they don't want begging dogs but ours don't really beg they just sit there and wait until we're done and they get three bites
ReplyDeleteWell done my sweet and beautiful Lee!

Mom hates it when I stare at her while she eating and if I'm good and I stop staring, I get the reward when she's almost finished.
ReplyDeleteWe can't wait to....wait a minute, did you know that also works for snacks?!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Lee!

My Alex does the same thing. He then does the head tilt.
ReplyDeleteLee, I do something similar though instead of people food which I don't really care about (shocking, right?!?), I get some yummy treats on top of my food so I'll eat more. ~Ernie
ReplyDeleteThat is a great lesson, Hailey. We do something similar but we always finish our meals too so we get extra that way.
ReplyDeleteYou're way to clever, Miss Hailey. It's good for your parents to give you plates for the prewash cycle.
ReplyDeleteLOL BOL! Angel Joey dog was an expert food watcher, and we're sure he'd approve of your method. (He always said Chester was too impatient.)
ReplyDeleteI have actually tried this strategy. It works, but Mom usually puts a little of her oatmeal or some of her scrambled eggs INTO my half done food bowl. I eat the addition and often accidentally finish my food in the process. #sorcery

Hi cousin, Ojo here! It did not work. I can't not eat everything in bowl! I just can't help it! But I can make eyes at the people, that part I'm good at! Why aren't you eating, cousin? Are you okay?
