We have discovered in the past 427 days (that is how long our lockdown has been) that our boy dog is very set in his routine. He likes when we do things at about the same time everyday and he likes that we sit in the same spot.
Last week, the Man sat beside the Lady in the settee. Usually Man sits in the recliner.
Our boy sat there looking very unhappy. The humans found it very funny and now occasionally do it for fun!
we re with you phod... such hum u disturbs our routie d our view o the world like it should be..

ReplyDeleteStruth, Phoddy, what are they doing??!!! Put a prawtest into da bosses about the cruel and unusual punishment. ... oh wait... they are the bosses, right? Sigh... sorry pupster, you'll have to deal with it. Hugs and wags, your usless YAM-aunty xxx
we do that same thing to Beau. He doesn't like for me to sit next to Bob in Bob's PLACE, it confuses him.. sorry Phod, we humans have to get a little fun once in a while.... Beau knows our routine perfectly and if we don't do what is next he tells us about it
ReplyDeleteOh that so reminds me of Hamish the Westie and the 'German class episode'. He used to come with me to a private German class held in the teacher's house. We always sat in the same place around the table. Then one week a new class member turned up and sat in 'my' place. Didn't bother me, but Hamish barked and barked until proper seating arrangements were restored! (The teacher, still a friend, is the 'M' of 'M and J' in recent posts).
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.
This behavior is both interesting and funny (yours and Bertie's)!
ReplyDeleteCan't teach an old dog new tricks syndrome?
ReplyDeletePhod...........that was one good stink eye you were giving Man. There is a time and a place for everything even the Man's tushie...was in the wrong place!!

Our girls have always been about routine but the shutdown has only increased their expectations. Dog Dad working from home and then gasp actually daring to go to work on occasion creates a huge challenge to the schedule. I have no idea how they are going to manage when Dog Dad goes back to work full time.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Phod. The peeps gotta stick to the routine!
ReplyDeleteSheesh...doesn't the Man know that is YOUR place???

Routines are safe. But sometimes, it's good to change things up a bit. It makes life interesting...or so our huMom tells us.

We are totally with you, Phod. Routines and proper places are never to be deviated from.
ReplyDeleteRoutine is good. I can attest to that. ~Ernie
