In this incident, the boy pups were happily sleeping. Hailey was sitting/sleeping in her favourite chair, and Tendra (the other female) was sitting on the floor getting her head pet by the Big Guy. All was peaceful in the house.
Hailey got up, walked over to Tendra and attacked her, biting her on the ear. A moment of chaos ensued with other dogs coming over to check out what was happening, people yelling etc. It was all short lived. Hailey was sent to time out. Tendra, while she had a minor cut and was a bit nervous, was fine and within a few minutes everyone had settled down again.
No one is sure what set this off. There were no other incidents like this. Hailey did snap at Tendra once when Tendra jumped up on the bed and stepped on her (having a 90 lb Lab jump on you may justify a little snapping!). It is all very strange.
Given that 4 dogs had to share a house for 18 days, this small incident may be a miracle.
How could this sleeping girl turn into a bad snapper? |
Glad it was short-lived. Sounds like things went well otherwise.
ReplyDeleteWell, these things happen....sometimes we have to show everyone who's boss! Glad it was a minor incident in the scheme of things................
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
Scary for sure! Glad it wasn't a BIG blow-up and that everyone is OK.

Well we are glad it all went well apart from the incident. Odd for sure. Have a marvellous Monday.

Just a minor whoops and no doggie seriously hurt. You never know what causes these little incidents but it does sound like the doggies were well behaved overall (Mum says unlike me which I finks is very harsh !)

Glad all dogs were well behaved (except one strange adventure).Maybe she was jealous or she thought something was wrong with the ranking? Or was it just a "girl-thing"?

Maybe she had a dream that Tendra did something to her...

ReplyDeleteFor sure it was a ranking thing... a bit like all human families merging for holidays; lots of snapping appears out of the blue then too!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Sometimes the three of us have knock down drag outs at our house so we think the four of them did really well!!!
