Mischief Monday - The Chair That Moves
This occurred recently during a game of find it. The dogs are locked in the bathroom for 87 million years while the people hide cookies and then the dogs use their nose to find them.

Day 190
Today marks 190 days since the pandemic really hit us (and things first shut down). We thought we would give a little update on life here.
The Man works at home now and might forever. He is starting to consider getting a better desk and going to the office for his chair and extra monitors. He misses his coworkers, but likes not having a commute and getting a daily nap. He misses traveling.
The Lady goes to the office 2 days per week, this makes it much more difficult to guard her. She liked it better when she didn't have to go at all, but this a reasonable compromise that allows her to support her clients the best. What she does like is traffic is very light as so many people are still at home. She is happy to be back to working full time most days (although she wishes it was 4 instead of 5 days a week and hopes once the September craziness, which is always crazy in her work calms down, she will be able to make that dream come true!) Surprisingly, Lady actually doesn't miss traveling one bit! She loves being home.
Ottawa, the closest major city, appears to have entered the second wave. They have been posting 50+ new cases a day. Cases have gotten into longterm care again, including one where a friend's husband works.
In both provinces most kids have gone back to school. Quebec made it mandatory but Ontario created an online option. Lady can't figure out province wide how many kids went back but it appears to be between 60-80%. Looking at her clients, that feels about right.
In both provinces around where we live, there are fines for not wearing masks inside. Social distancing is encouraged, restaurants/movie theatres have to keep groups apart. Lady has eaten inside a restaurant 3 times and felt fine (that was before the numbers started to climb again, it might be some time before she goes in again).
Lady and Man are still very careful about what they do. Lady says it is always a risk benefit analysis. The do essential errands (groceries, pharmacy, hardware store) and essential self care (Lady has been to get her hair done, but her stylist has moved to a home salon and she is the only one there, she also went to the eye doctor and tomorrow tries out the dentist which she is so excited for because she was suppose to go in May). They have been out to eat (essential socialization with friends Lady will say). She says she has honestly only not felt safe one time and that was at the Asian grocer (they bought enough rice wraps they shouldn't have to go for a long time!)
Overall, the pandemic is an inconvenience for us. We feel lucky about this. We know it is much more for so many people worldwide.
That is how things are here. We hope everyone continues to be safe and healthy!

Mischief Monday - So Embarrassing
Dear Pals,
Our peeps are pretty well trained these days (only took 10 years and a pandemic) and they do a good job at taking us on 3 walks most days.
However, sometimes, their attire leaves a lot to be desired. That is right, they will take us out of the yard, in their pjs, in the day time. Thanks to the trail camera we have proof! What ever happened to dressing up to go out?
We just don't know what we are going to do with them!
Do your peeps do embarrassing things like this?

Nature Friday - Bird Edition
Thanks to Rosy for hosting Nature Friday. This week we share some assorted bird pictures from the Trail Cam.
First, one of Lady's favourites. She thinks it is some kind of flicker (which we recently learned is a type of woodpecker).

Training Thursday - by Phod
Lady, I don't understand what the problem is. Every time you work out, I come to support you and help you. I can't imagine I am in your way.

A Professor Lee Tutorial
Dear pals, this is your favourite teacher, professor Lee, here to give you a baby destruction lesson.
First, have a comfy place to conduct your amputation. I am partial to one of the beds in our dining room. I like to have other babies around to watch.
You must be sure you have a good grip on it. You don't want the baby to escape. You will notice I use of my left claw. Skunk is not going anywhere.
I hope you found this tutorial helpful. Happy deading and destroying!
xxProfessor Lee

Mischief Monday - Our Worst Nightmare Come True - by Lee
We can hardly believe we have to write this and we are hardly strong enough to. You are not going to believe what happened last week.
Around midnight on Wednesday am, Lady and Man were awoken to the sound of Phod's tummy grumbling. In Lady's dreams it was a baby or a kitten and as she was waking up she couldn't believe we weren't at the patio freaking out.
As she lay there trying to go back to sleep, while Phod's stomach was gurgling, Lady was scared. She was scared because Phod has not been eating all his breakfast everyday for about 5 weeks (he eats fine later in the day) and the last time she heard gurgling like this was with angel Loki, while he was dying.
Then out of the dark she says to Man "Did we feed them dinner?"
Man replied with "No, I don't think so."
That is correct on Tuesday evening our people forgot to feed us dinner. So the loud noise of Phod's belly was him starving. Lady said she was shocked I put up with this. Usually if it is more that 15 minutes late, I am throwing the bowl around.
Lady got up, and gave us a sad midnight buffet. Sad, because the bucket was almost empty and it was not a full meal. Not only did she starve us, she then gave us subpar food. Further, she said we were not to get use to the midnight buffet. It was not going to become a thing.
Anyway, after we ate Phod's tummy was quiet and we all went back to sleep.
The Lady and Man got a serious F for this move. Lady says it is because of the pandemic. I personally think she has no one to blame for this but herself.
Have your peeps ever forgotten to feed you?

Nature Friday - Turf Wars
Thanks to Rosy for hosting Nature Friday. I brought the trail cam in because it said it had over 900 pictures on it. 850 were of a branch moving in the wind (we have put it in a new spot), but there were a few great ones. Those of you who follow me on other social media channels will have gotten a sneak peak at this.
The date stamp is wrong (I hope I have it fixed now!). This took place on September 2, in the early evening. The Man was in my office on the computer and saw some turkeys. I was sitting in the room you can see the windows of the house (that is our living/dining area). The Man asked me why all the turkeys and when I looked out there were like 4. We had no idea this was happening 20 feet from our house.
