Mischief Monday - Can I Blame Some Other Dog? By Phod

 Dear pals,

It has been a terrible few days here. Ever since that big storm we have had a lot of issues with our power. It flickers or goes out like almost everyday. There is nothing scarier for me than us not having power.

Last Thursday, we had a mini-storm (nothing like derecho or the tornados they were calling for) but enough wind that this tree was on the power lines near our house and we had no power Thursday evening.

Lady stopped to take this picture as she was driving home.

The wind continued the next couple of days and even though it was sunny it was very windy. Lady and Man had a very special night planned Saturday and gave us some valium before going out as we were stressed.  They were going to a nice dinner to celebrate Lady's birthday (which was yesterday). They were gone for about 3 and a half hours and were home by 7:30.

I may have hid under the island at one point during the week

When Lady went downstairs with a cup of tea after her return she found a huge mess. Some doggy had made a big poop in the middle of the floor. Lady said that and a pee may have been forgivable but the 6 pees were a little too much to be an accident. Basically the whole games room was just pee. Lady had called up to Man to ask him to bring the cleaning supplies because 'some dog had peed everywhere' and he thought she was exaggerating until he came to the scene.

Trying to be remorseful

At any rate, Lady said she loved me but was not happy with my behaviour. I tried to say some other dog did it, but she didn't buy it. She said she could see the guilt in my eyes.

Well, we are lucky, Man is officially working at home forever now, so we won't be alone too much.

Gracious, does Lady not realise you were giving her birthday presents??!!! (Well, I tried your behalf, Phod-dear...) I am sorry to hear that you got distressed though. I hope and pray that you never have to face such a seperation ever again. (...again with the trying...) Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. Evidently Valium is not the answer to stress.. sorry for all the heat and storms and things that upset you. Also sorry the pawrentz had a mess to clean up.. You do look innocent to me.. maybe a vandal broke in and did it

  4. We're sorry to hear the weather hasn't been very good for you lately, Phod. Are you sure you can't blame some of the pee on Hailey?

  5. Phod I'm so sorry I know how much you don't like loud storms and especially the generator.
Thank goodness Man is now working from where you can be his snoopervisor and he can be your support system.

  6. Hi Phod! Wow! You did NOT like the stormy weather at all! A "sensitive' dog lives here too. We have had a very cold and wet spring and we have had quite a few thunderstorms this week and Cinnamon has been hiding in the basement. Mom says it is a good thing that the floor is still concrete...Cinnie too left a huge mess and she says "that OTHER dog was visiting here too!" Thanks for visiting us and stay safe from the trees, wind and thunder boomers! Purrs Marv

  9. All the Covid restrictions made us all a lot less happy about staying at home alone for very long. It's OK if the peeps are both gone for an hour or so, but any more than that and we give them heck when they get home. Mom says Misty acts as if she hasn't seen them for years.

  10. A belated Happy Birthday to Lady, but may we respectfully suggest that next time she arranges a birthday celebration at a dog-friendly location?

  11. Phod, I'm sorry that you're still so scared of no power and storms. With the man home now, hopefully that will help you. Happy birthday to the Lady. ~Ernie

  12. So sorry for the accidents, dear Phod. Now that Dog Dad will be home, we hope it never happens again. Bummer on the tree being downed by winds-they must have been quite fierce.

  14. Oh no! That must have been a pretty scary storm to cause such doggie "flooding" and "debris" at your house, P. I am sorry you were so afraid, but I know your parents understand and still love you in spite of it all, just like you still love them in spite of it all.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake
