On our walk we crossed a creek.
We also walked by the neighbour's sugar bush. The blue cords are running the sap into the big blue barrels. They will take these back to their house and boil it. They will likely do this outside, we haven't asked. Next time we see Callie's people we will ask. Our province of Quebec produces 91% of Canada's maple syrup. Canada supplies the world with 75% of the world with maple syrup.

ReplyDeletephooey, always something to mess with the fun stuff. i did not know Maple syrup comes from Canada and i do love it. the funny thing is, I had never had maple syrup when I married Bob. I was age 40 and had only had cane syrup, which is made in Georgia the state i was born in. He is from the NORTH really close to Canada... now I love both... a beautiful place to walk, maybe it will dry up soon and you can walk without a bath
ReplyDeleteI say, if Canada provides 75 percent of the world's maple sugar (mostly to western countries, I would gather), it should hoard (or limit) maple sugar exports, like other countries have hoarded (or limited) exports of the vaccine.

On my way to work, I pass a few farms that often have maple syrup collection buckets on the sides of certain trees this time of year. I've never seen a network like the one you showed.

Fortunately the mud season doesn't last long in our arid climate. Hopefully there won't be more baths in the near future.
