Thanks to Rosy for hosting Nature Friday.
Momma and her babies were back again last week. Lady and Man are impressed with how healthy they look so deep into the winter.
We also hosted a meeting of or the Squirrel United Nations.

I am thankful for the Lady moving a bed into the sun puddle for me, so that even though it was too cold outside, I could enjoy the sun.
Dear Pals,
The most horrible thing happened on Saturday. Both my people left me for 2 87 million hours. It was the longest 2 87 million hours of my life. While I have accepted that Lady leaves 2 days a week (and frankly her being gone does allow me to have some time off from my guard duty) and Man leaves once a week for a short time, I do not think it is acceptable for them to be gone together for any time. I got myself so worked up about it, I threw up.
It was Saturday afternoon nap time when they got back and I was forced to join the nap and sleep right up against the Man to make sure he was safe and to keep an eye on Lady.
Lady said when this pandemic ends I may be the one who needs medication. I think she just needs to make sure one of them is always home. It is not that unreasonable.
Dear pals,
The most terrible thing happened last week. One of my discs was in a horrible accident. You see, I left the disc near the composted to guard it. I don't want anything stealing the food garbage. But you see, the Man snow blows a path to the composted for the Lady and he didn't tell the guard disc he was coming and the disc met a swift death. I had been slowly ripping it apart for years.
I was very sad and sulked. The Man yelled at me for being careless with my things. He doesn't understand that guard disc was doing his job and I love to leave my toys outside. Black disc is current buried in the fort. Other disc is MIA (Lady suspects it is in the side yard). I am discless! (Don't tell them this is my plan so I can take Precious out).
Lady has apparently come to my rescue. She ordered me a new disc when she ordered my food. I wonder how long until I loose this one in the snow!
Your disc loving pal Phod
Dear pals,
We had a true winter week. It was very cold and I couldn't do proper morning walks. On days Lady worked from home, she would take me on a short lunch time walk. This is a sample of the temperatures and this was when it had warmed up! Below would be -6F/-22F. It got down to about -35C/-31F some mornings.
Thanks to our dear friend Rosy for hosting this hop.
We will let the pictures do the talking. Imagine our barking and destain that the Lady is feeding the enemy. (And she has named one Spider Squirrel).
Thanks to Rosy for hosting this hop. While winter is not always our favourite season given the crazy cold temperatures and sometimes the horrible driving conditions, it can be beautiful and peaceful.
It is not acceptable when Lady uses her office to do Zumba. I do not like it. Let me try and stand in her way.
Sometime early in the pandemic Lady found theses Pumpkin oat muffins. They are easy to make. She has made them almost every weekend since she found the recipe. Lady doesn't have pumpkin pie spice, she just combines cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg.
Now there is one serious problem with this recipe. Lady can't share because of the chocolate. Therefore, we can't personally state the safety and enjoyability of them. We can say, Man who would say he doesn't like pumpkin loves them.
Here is hoping her next baking project is dog friendly.
I was reading in the paper that during the pandemic people really are losing sense of time. I find this completely unacceptable.
On Friday night, as a treat, my peeps ate pizza in front of the TV. They usually take their dinner at the dining room table. At first this was fine because being on the couch resulted in me getting more pizza. However when the pizza was gone, they continued to watch their show. I waited until 6:30 and then stood at the top of the stairs and waited very impatiently. I was stomping my feet. Do you know what they did? They laughed and took my picture. Sigh!
In the end my dinner was 10 minutes late. The things I have to put up with.
