Mischief Monday - Bored - by Lee

Dear Pals,

It has been life in the slow lane here in rural Quebec. While the weather is slowly improving and the snow is melting (although as I write this on Sunday there is snow falling . . .), and it is light in the morning during our walks,  and the ceiling is not leaking any more, it is boring.

Lady has been far too busy with work. She is working 6 days a week. Short story, the government had cancelled the funding many of the families she works with were getting (she works with individuals with autism and related disorder) and then they reinstated the program for another 6 months. Now Lady has to last minute put together these huge (like 30 page) reports for all the kids (like 20), plus do her regular clinical work. She would have started them all earlier if she had known she was going to have to do them, but when the government said she didn't, she believed them. Anyway, she is crazy busy and maybe a little cranky (but don't tell her I said that). She is making sure we are getting walked and fed and loved. She says to tell you she is sorry for not having visited as often as she would have liked, but she knows you all understand. It is just a season that will hopefully pass soon.

In the mean time, I am bored. I will keep being bored.

  4. Poor Hailey. We're sorry to hear your mom is working too hard but at least you know the kibble will keep coming. Does Phod know you are sleeping with his Precious?

  5. Oh Lee, I do sympathise, and Gail sends her best wishes to Lady and hopes that once this particular avalanche of work (20 reports! 30 pages each!) has cleared, you will all have time to do fun stuff together. And who knows, it might even be proper spring by then...

  7. After my humans owned a pharmacy for 12 years, they understand the truck loads of work the government can throw at you! Dad calls it all "unfunded regulations." Good luck getting through it all!

  12. Sounds like things are a bit crazy there at the moment--our government does dumb stuff like that all the time--hope it calms down soon...or at least some interesting animals walk past your window.

  13. Your Mom works so hard to help others - you are lucky to have her as a Mom. She'll have more time for you soon.

  14. I know about work and understand government funding. Here in America it has no common sense.
