Nature Friday on Thursday

Thanks to Rosy for hosting this. We are posting a day early because tomorrow is Phod's birthday!

Recently we have been showing you a group of wild turkeys that have made our yard their home. All the turkeys we showed were female.

Last week, the male showed up. Lady calls him Charles.

Even when he isn't showing off, he is a big guy!

We wonder how long it will be before we have baby turkeys?

Here are some pictures from Saturday.

Snow still looks pretty deep on while Phod and his boy are playing.

It is deep and melting and hard to walk across

Smart Lee sticks to the melted driveway

Phod and Callie check out the snow on the septic field

Front path is clear

Will it be warm enough the next 12 days to all melt so Phenny and Nelly win, will Susan squeeze out the win due to the huge gap in dates or will we have a tight race later in the month?

In Celcius

Stay tuned!

FFF Nature Friday - Dirty Spring

Thanks to Aunty-Yam for hosting FFF and to Rosy for hosting nature Friday!

In the time of in-between,

spring has lost winters glean,

snow is black and paws are muddy

we all think it is very cruddy!

Now our adventure:

Last weekend we walked over to Callie's house

Hi Callie!

To check out their very fancy sugar shack!

It wasn't running yet, but should be starting this weekend so we will go over to see it. While we were there, they had put 180 taps into the trees behind our house. These taps, run down tubes to big barrels. The barrels will be brought to the shack where the magic will happen. We hope to be able to share more really soon1

Calli barking as no one is throwing a stick

Phod having to be back on leash after wandering to eat too much deer pop.

Reminder - tomorrow our when will the snow be gone contest closes. Please go to Monday's post for more information!

What Do You Mean I Am in The Way?

Here  I am just minding my business, enjoying this wonderful exercise mat that clearly can only be on the floor for my use.

What do you mean, you need me to move so you can exercise, I was very much enjoying this perfect spot!

Remember there is still time to enter our contest, go to Monday's post!

Trouble on A Tuesday - by Lee

 Dear pals,

We are not liking the 'endemic' our people are talking about. We liked the pandemic when they hardly ever left.

On Saturday the most horrible thing happened. Lady took us for a nice long walk (the last day of winter was lovely, before the rain came). We had breakfast and then the people left for pickle ball. We don't like this, but it is our new Saturday routine and it is short so we accept it. They came home, gave us another breakfast, showered, got dressed and then left for 87 million hours.

They came home around 9, where we got dinner (which is very late as dinner is to be served at 6:30).

I was so excited they returned, I jumped up here!

In spite of this transgression, we were good and didn't destroy anything or have any accidents.

I think I am going to miss the pandemic more than most.

Your pal Lee, the abandoned.

Editor's note: In Quebec, with the exception of masking, all regulations have been lifted. In Ontario, all regulations have been lifted, including masking. Lady works out of the home 3 days per week (in Ontario, in an office that is not fully removing masking yet as we work with vulnerable people). The Man is still home, and hopes to be home now forever (or at least home part time). On Saturday, we went to the first, non-family member's home since February 2020. We have been in people's yards the past 2 years but we have not sat on anyone who was not family's couch. We are slowly getting back out into the world!

Reminder - go to Monday's post to learn about our contest!

Contest - When Will The Snow Be Gone!

Also, if you want to play but don't want a prize, Lady will be happy to make a donation in your honour.

Previous winning dates have ranged from April 11 to May 11, if that helps you with your pick.

As of March 20, 2022, the city closest to us had gotten about 198.3 cm/77.6 inches of snow since November 2021 - (we tend to get a little more snow then the city!) There is still snow in the forecast for the next 2 weeks.

From February - thank goodness it is so pretty

These pictures are from Saturday!

Grass!!!!!

Mud!!!!

Still too deep to walk through!

Leave a comment with questions!

Good luck everyone!

Nature Friday - Late Winter Evening

Thanks to Rosy for hosting this event.

Here is our sky when we went for a walk after dinner recently. We were so excited to see it was not pitch black after 7!

Crazy Time

Some nights, between dinner and evening stroll, Hailey gets a little crazy! She may even try and hump the Man.

She is most likely to be crazy if her dinner topper was something she really loves, like a little bit of meat.

Look at the tail go!

Crazy eyes

Rub my back! I can't keep still!

Barking at the Lady for taking pictures and not playing

Do you ever have crazy time?
