Nature Friday - Warm Enough To Walk

Thanks to Rosy for organizing this event.

Last Sunday, we had a break in the extreme cold and went for a nice walk around our private road.

There is always so much to smell on winter walks and tracks to follow.

This is the apple tree at the end of our driveway the deer love

This is our road looking toward the lake

Here is a deer run through the bush. Those are fun to follow because they lead to piles of deer poop.

Here is Hailey tracking novel people on the lake!

We figured it was safe to walk on the lake if people could snowmobile on it!

We didn't go to far as the lake scares the Lady. You can see our dock on shore.

Lee loved this walk.

Proof Lady was brave and went on the lake

We hope you enjoyed another stroll through the winter with us!

  3. All great photos——the portrait of the two Ladies, especially. Looks cold, but I guess not very windy or you'd be wearing a face covering!

  4. You sure have a lot of snow. Our mom would be scared to walk on the lake, too. It looks like you all had lots of fun on your walk.

  7. You live in a Winter Wonderland, and Lady is right: Don't walk on the lake.

  9. Oooh, Gail and I loved coming with you on your winter walk. Did you find any yummy deer poop? I'm imagining it would have been nice and crunchy (unless very recently dropped...)
    Toodle pip!

  10. Your Lady is most brave to venture out on the frozen lake. We'd be waving from the beach! Elsa says avoid the deer poop-it can give you gas. ;)

  12. What a great walking route!!! We got snow today, but no walk with Mom. Too icy for her. So we have had all our fun outside in the yard.

  13. That was a beautiful walk. Mom and I would be with Lady. We would have no desire to get onto the frozen pond.

    Love and licks,

  14. What a terrific walk! Wow! our Mom won't walk on the lakes, even if it has been really cold. But she will watch other peeps! Cinnamon is happy that our weather is back to normal (a couple of degree either side of freezing). Cinnamon is too as she gets to go for longer walks. We hope you guys had a marvellously happy weekend.

  15. What a fun walk! It's my favorite time to walk the dogs, because everything is so fresh, and it's just fun to be outside!!

And I remember snowmobiling in Alaska in the spring on the lake - Sometimes seeing water and the cracks in the ice made me go that much faster, YIKES!! 😊
