Nature Friday - A Special Walk - by Phod

 Dear pals,

On the last day of 2021 (which if you ask me was a great year because my peeps were home almost all the time), at lunch Man took Lee for a walk, and I got to go on a special walk with my Lady.

Come with me and I will show you some sights!

The walk was on Calli's bush behind our house. As you can see there are nice snow machine tracks to walk on.

Hailey usually decides what way to go but I got to. The only rule was Lady wanted to stick on a path.

Lady called this spot the snowy arches.

There was a lot of tracks to sniff - deer, likely fox (or could be coyote, we heard something yipping back there earlier in the week) and squirrel. I did a lot of sniffing.

I even sniffed up this bone, which the Lady made me drop and then after taking a picture, threw deep into the woods.

We had a lovely time and I hope we go back soon! (Lady says we will when we can walk in the daylight, she is not going back there in the dark!)

Thanks to Rosy for hosting this hop!

  4. What a find, Phod! Following a path in the snow, in daylight, is always a good idea! Your photos make me miss our winter walks in New Hampshire.

  5. This made us want to quote ... "the woods are lovely, dark and deep" ... you are truly blessed to have the best of Mother Nature just outside your door, woods and lakes and more, such wonderful places to wander.

  7. Hi Phod,
    What a beautiful, special walk.
Although it was a shame about that bone. Maybe you could sneak out and go looking for it some time...

  8. That looked like a perfect place for a walk, Phod. So many things to sniff and dig out of the snow. Too bad Lady threw you bone into the woods.

  12. That bone was pretty gross with lots of sharp edges. I am happy Lady told you to drop it. Mom knows best on this one.

    Love and licks,

  13. Oh Wow! We sure would like some snow tracks...there will probably be some after the weekend. The snow is so very deep, Mom wishes that she did not sell the (very ancient) snowshoes at the manly man estate sale 2 summers ago. We NEVER get this much snow here (would you believe 3 feet in one week).
