Nature Friday - Winter

Thanks to dearest Rosy for hosting Nature Friday. Today we have a few videos and pictures of winter, as captured on the trail camera. It didn't capture wildlife (unless you count Lady and the neighbours on their snowmobile) but it did capture winter.

First up, we have some night-time snow! (Click Here if the video won't play - there were a LOT of HBO words while trying to get these videos from YouTube to the blog . . . . . .).

Next we have Lady out by herself, trying to snowshoe through our yard to the trail. It was very deep and hard work.  Click HERE if the video won't play.

In this series of pictures, you can see the wind blowing if you look closely. Lady is reminded of a book title "Who Has Seen the Wind" a Canadian classic by W.O. Mitchell that she had to read in high school and all she remembers is she didn't enjoy it.

  3. Boy that snow was blowing sideways and that first video and it looks very difficult to me to walk on those snowshoes. I had trouble walking on flat ground in the sunshine this morning that makes me think that's no shoes would not be for me.

  8. Snowshoeing sure looks like a lot of hard work. But we bet it is good exercise too.

Your world is so pretty in Winter.

  10. We had a peek at spring here for the last few days. But the weatherman says we'll soon return to winter. Looks like your Mom had quite a work-out in that snow!

  13. Your snow is really pretty!! I know that snowshoeing is good exercising, and having done it, I know it's hard work too. Kudos for getting out there! When we lived in Alaska, I was more of a cross country ski-girl and enjoyed being out in the sunshine!

Enjoy your weekend, no matter what temperature it is!

  14. That snow was coming down sideways. The Lady sure had to work hard to take each step.

  15. If you can see the wind, you can feel the wind, and that's no fun. Best to park the snowshoes and come inside.

  16. Oh My Cod! You guys really have captured our Canadian Winters! We are now feeling blessed that we live in BC, I'm not sure I would want to go through all of that again! Have a marvellously Happy Day!
