A Conversation - By Phod

 Dear pals,

It is autumn and that means our house becomes a mouse B and B. So far we have caught 4.

Lady said we dogs need to be more helpful with the removal of them and become mousers. I said, I want to have mice pets. Lee said that was above her pay grade. Then Lady said maybe we need a cat. She said it would be far more helpful then we are. When our angel cats were alive we didn't have this problem.  Imagine, thinking a cat could replace us, even if it could be a more helpful mouse bouncer.

On Friday, Man was giving many of our Halloween decorations to the neighbour, and she asked if we wanted a kitten, four have moved into her garage. The Man said no. Lady would say yes but she is worried about Lee hurting or killing it. Lady said too bad Lee wouldn't use her great hunting skills on mice and help. She says she knows I would be a gentle and wonderful cat caretaker. It is this gentleness that won't let me be a mouser.

Anyway, it looks like it will just be us dogs and the mice and a cat won't be moving in.

xx Phod

  1. mice are micerable, we totally agree... the staff bought a special mouse trap now what did the trick by now, but we know that they will find the way in our crib again...

hmmmmmmm there's a bit of devil and deep blue sea thinking going on here, Phoddy. I understand the need for a cat - but also the need to not have it chased instead of the meeses... you just be you and all will be well. Hugs and wag,s YAM-aunty xxx

  4. We don't have melted but we do have rats. And the big rat trap has caught for in the past 4 days. This is the time of year they come out of the palm trees and their after the fruit on the avocado tree they will go away as soon as the avocados are gone. But we have just the right trap and when I hear them scrabbling we said it and that's that. We had one dog that was a Mauser and this case a ratter. Max was our first dog and we had him for 16 years and we never had any Critters in the yard because he did not allow Critters in his yard. But none of the others pay any attention to them. Beau has a question for p h o d. Do you leave all your precious out all the time or do you just leave one at a time? I think it confused Beau because he doesn't know what to do with three and I'm wondering if we should put only one at a time out

  5. Shoo, g'away, come again another day ... Phod would rather sleep than play!
No mousie games for him today.

  6. It's too bad the Lady won't let you have any pet mice or a kitty to help keep the mice away. We think having a little sibling would be fun. Good luck dealing with your mice problem.

  7. Hey Phod, maybe you could just train the mice to stay out of places where Lady and Man would see them. That way you can have mouse pets with none the wiser!

  8. Well Phod, I think you and Lee got a good deal. I would far rather share a house with a mouse than a C-A-T...

  9. Mitch used to be the bestest mouser ever. You can do this! And this is easy for me to say because mom has mouse traps set in our basement and garage. I, Molly, have never met a mouse.

  10. It's the time of year for mouse vacations apparently. Two garden mice have been making the rounds in our tomato patch. Little stinkers. They don't even write good AirBNB reviews-the nerve!

  11. Phod...Angel Madi would have been fired as a mouser. If she saw a bug she yeowled to the top of her lungs for me....she would watch it. Then I yelled to the top of my lungs for Bryan.

  12. We don't think any cats will be moving in here either. We like our virtual cats a lot, but none in the furson:) Good luck with those house crashers. We hope they decide to seek out another house.

  14. We haven't seen any mice in our house, but the dad-guy said he saw one in the garage. We need to get in there and catch it!

  16. We occasionally get a couple mice in the garage, or in the attic. (Chester always knows when there's one in the garage because he goes snuffling around under all of Dad's stuff and knocks things down.) We have traps for them, that are pretty effective. If you want some really creative ideas for catching mice, etc, check out "Mouse Trap Monday" on youtube.
