The most frequent visitors right now to the Lady's bird feeders are the squirrels. We have red, grey and black ones. The red one is the meanest and usually chases the black one away, unless the black one comes with a friend. We seem to have 3 black ones hanging out.
This feeder is emptied as soon as I fill it thanks to the 'spider' squirrels.
Because the feeders are under the deck, the squirrels run across it a lot, so we get to bark at them a lot. Lady sometimes finds them distracting when she is working at her desk.
Thanks to Rosy and the Boyz for hosting Nature Friday so we can share about our friend-emies.
omg they know all tricks to empty your berd feeder LOL
ReplyDeleteMackie's dad used to have red squirrels inside his workshop for a short time. They'd come inside to play and then leave and of course, Mackie and I would spend the entire day sniffing trying to find them. We've never seen a black squirrel before!
ReplyDeleteOur backyard rodents are all grey....We have however succeeded at keeping them from stealing any of our seed or suet. They only get what the birds drop.
ReplyDeleteI have a photo up today with our feeders and baffles.
Hugs HiC
Squirrels are such pests! We bet you have fun barking at them all the time.
ReplyDeleteLeave it to the Evil Squirrel Cartel to raid the birdie feeders!
ReplyDeleteSilly squirrels! They sure are greedy, aren't they??

Red squirrels are really nasty. I hung my feeder where the squirrels can't get it since squirrels drive Keltic crazy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, those red ones are doozies in the meanness department.
ReplyDeleteDear friends,
ReplyDeleteWe hear you have snow, and - WAIT! SQUIRREL! BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK!
What was I saying again...?
Ooooh, I love the black ones. We don't have black squirrels anymore.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about those squirrels - They ALWAYS have friends and bring them along! After my feeders getting chewed and broken because of the squirrels, I bought a "squirrel proof" feeder that is doing a great job of keeping them from raiding it, and so they have to eat the seeds/nuts I throw on the ground for them.
ReplyDeleteBut they are so cute to look at....oh and you have some white stuff too!!! Yay!!Mummy just sent you and email to let you know we didn't get your entry in to my Countdown,xx Speedy
