Last Christmas I asked for a bird feeder. This year, it has attracted the turkeys. Hailey has gotten so use to them that often she just watches quietly. Here is a very short video of her watching.
My grandma used to have a deer feeder in the lot behind her house so she could watch the deer -- and they got turkeys too! Momma says Angel Casey liked to watch them and didn't try to chase them like Cousin Bear did. But they moved to the city, so it's just tree rats for them now!
The BIG Bird TV Channel:) The flock from our area seem to have flown the coop - we haven't seen them since the cold weather arrived. We have tried to pull Mom so we can chase them, but they can move pretty darn quickly.
I've never seen a turkey in Chicago (well, the Mayor) but in some neighborhoods you'll see a coyote just waltzing down a suburb street. LOTS of parks up here that connect, so lots of deer and coyotes.
Alas...our neighbor in the townhouse complained about our bird feeder and the hummingbird feeder - so we do not have one this year. Turkeys! That must be totally cool! Purrs Marv

I don't think my collies would ever get used to the turkeys. They've never given up alarm barking when the squirrel is in the front yard!
ReplyDeleteI would be doing the exact same thing as you are, Hailey! It passes the time nicely.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun for a dog to watch. Our dog wigs out at the sight of a squirrel at the bird feeder.

ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of turkeys! I'd be barking like crazy!
ReplyDeleteOMDs Hailey...those are some big turkeys....and a lot of them. If I saw one of them at my feeder I might just faint.

That's so cool. Elsa would be barking her head off at those 'winged squirrels.' BOL 🦃
ReplyDeleteWe would still be barking at them!
ReplyDeleteThat's even better than TV!!!

It's the turkey channel for Hailey! I love turkeys - they look prehistoric to me!

ReplyDeleteWe probably would be barking at those huge birds.

Cool. I filled my feeder last weekend. The birds haven't rediscovered it but the squirrels found the seed in the snow already. Celtic was not amused.
