As the temperatures drop and the snow starts to accumulate, I will continue to dream of our most recent adventures south.
We arrived in Florida on Black Friday (note, this was a very cheap day to fly). We got on the Norwegian Epic on the Saturday. We spent a week at sea before another few days in Florida at theme parks.
We spent most of the Friday looking for places I could eat. When you can't eat gluten or soy many of the places we went to would only serve me salad with no dressing. All their frier oils contained both canola and soy oil. Even a nice Italian place olive oil was a mix! It was a little frustrating.
On the Saturday morning, before heading to port, we walked Cocoa Beach. I love the beach and could walk it for the rest of my life! Here are a few favourite pictures.
My very favourite bird. It was nice to have such an encounter with one |
Watching the surfers |
oh how beautiful... and the feeling of the sand and the waves on our nekked feet... the paradise.... thanks for sharing a dream while we have to bear siberian temperatures... it gives hope that this ugly cold winter is not furever...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're in my old home town, next door anyway (Merritt Island, and Cocoa!!!) ... OMD ... actually will be back there myself for all of January! Are you still there then, or on your way elsewhere? Try to visit KSC if you like space stuff and the Canaveral Sea Shore is the best beach in the area ...
ReplyDeleteENJOY!

Oh K10 I do so agree with you (albeit I'm a tad prejudice...East Coast beach/coast is gorgeous. I love the shells, the flat easily walked beaches and warm waters.
ReplyDeleteI hope you finally found something that tantalized your taste buds and made your tummy happy.
Love photos

It's cold here outside.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the Atlantic Ocean it sure is pretty. I lived in Palm Bay back in 2007
Hope you had a nice vacation.

We especially love that first photo of the foamy beach.
ReplyDeleteSince it's so cold and snowy here today, the mom wishes she could put her toes in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great vacation! Ghostwriter loves to visit Florida, especially when it's cold out here.
ReplyDeleteThat is the beach where the astronaut found the jeannie in a bottle!! (Re: I Dream of Jeannie, American TV show from yesteryear.)

Oh, what beautiful photos!!! Mom so misses the ocean. She grew up in New England and had many summer vacations at the shore. No oceans around us - thanks for sharing your shots.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
As our temps dip near single digits here your pictures help warm us up.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lot warmer there. I can't think of anything to get me into any local water in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Oh! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThis makes the beaches around here look a little cold and dismal!
Great shots!

A warm weather location is always welcome when snow and cold arrive. Looks like a wonderful adventure. Love your bird pic. Too cool.
