All this rain and thunder has been very stressful for our Hailey Bug. She was coping ok. She had tried to break into the guest room as we shared last week when we were out.
This week, clearly enough was enough for her and on Thursday night, she wouldn't settle. We tried putting her in the closet which usually helps. Instead she destroyed her bed. She could only settle once I moved from the bed to the couch. After being up for an hour I slept on the couch from 3 until my get up time at 4:40. Friday night, the Man had to move to the couch around 3 and was there until we all got up around 7:45. For some reason once one of us is downstairs with her she settles.
There is more rain in the forecast. We are all hoping the record setting thunder is behind us and the humans can spend an entire night in their bed!

ReplyDeleteIt's distressing to see our pets in stress... if sleeping on the couch is what it takes to ease, then that's what it takes. POTP for less thunder for you! YAM xx

ReplyDeleteProfessor Lee I hope the weather will change and the storms go away.... I'm so sorry that you are "under the weather" that way....hugs to you... I will send some of our sun to you...
ReplyDeleteHow stressful for you, Hailey. We hope the sun shines for you SOON!

We've had some record rainfall too. Last week it was wall-to-wall storms. Fortunately it's cleared up for now. Hopefully things will clear up where you are too so everyone can get some sleep.
ReplyDeletePoor Hailey! I hope the weather gets better fur you. Its no fun living in fear. The booms have been after me too during the night time hours wif the fireworks and they just spook me terrible.

Oh my goodness that sounds exhausting. Poor Hailey and poor you. Fingers and paws crossed here that the thunder ceases and you all get a good night's rest.
ReplyDeletePoor Lee, this sounds so traumatic; I really hope there is no more thunder for a while. How is Phod doing, I hope he's not getting stressed during the storms. You all will be in my prayers for peaceful and storm less nights.
ReplyDeleteTrust me, you certainly don't have a monopoly on crummy weather. Sorry the weather is upsetting Hailey. Please send all unwanted moisture a bit south and west. We've had countless days of 90+ degrees so some rain would be most welcome. 😇
ReplyDeleteOh Hailey I am so sorry about the thunder and I do truly understand...I, HiC, am not a fan of tstorms AT ALL! I hope the worst is over too.
ReplyDeleteHugs and kitty kisses

Rain is bad enough, but thunder is horrible. Hope it has passed for the season.
ReplyDeleteThat is too bad, poor Hailey and poor humans. Maybe you need a first floor bedroom:) Seriously we hope things improve asap.

Poor Hailey. We sure hope the rain subsides.
ReplyDeleteThat is WAAAAY too much rain and storms for a scared little girl. Hope that's the worst of it and it will rain-rain-go-away now.
