This and That Friday

First, a great big, huge thank you (and hug) to everyone who participated in our first blog hop, Hugs From Around the World. It was great to feel all the love. Blogville rocks! If you missed it, The Three Little Pugs Dad found out yesterday he was coming home today! AMAZING!

I am not so sure Hailey and Zaphod enjoyed the process of getting our picture. Here is an outtake:

We are now at week 6 of the great mouse caper. To date 15 mice have been caught. Most have been caught in the garage, so this is helpful.  It also appears a skunk is digging up our yard. We haven't smelt it, but are seeing the dig up marks. We are making sure Phod is always on leash in the dark as we don't want to deal with the spray!

Yesterday marked 21 years since I met the Man. It is hard to believe. (And amazing how we aren't aging).

The weather has been weird here. Over the weekend there was snow. Monday morning during our walk it was -7 C/19 F but Tuesday it was 17 C/ 64 F. Wednesday was cooler again and Thursday warmer. The joys of a Canadian autumn. The weather is up and down and all around. The peak of the leaves is now behind us, and it is starting to look bare. Sigh, the count down to winter is on.

I was blessed with 2 work at home days this week, extra pup time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

  12. Thank you for hosting the hugs doggie blog! It was great!

Wow! That was a lot of mousies you've caught! We've only caught two so far. We have never met a skunk, but we have met a woodchuck. It was in our back yard for some unknown reason, and was a rather nasty chap. Be careful!

  13. We are glad the Pugs Dad is coming home. Keep up the good work on the vermin wrangling. Congrats on 21 years. That's how long my parents have been married. It must be a lucky number.

  15. You did a great thing yesterday. The blog hop was amazing!

If you are doing catch-and-release of the mice, we learned the hard way that you need to take them very far away so they don't come right back in. Once we started doing that (after about 87 mice), we finally ended our problem with mice... Also, R decided that he was part cat, and he stalks mice now.

  16. The Hugs Hop was great and Butch got to come home! Be careful of that skunk, it could be a stinky problem. We have armadillos dig up our yard at night on occasion. The boys always go outside on a leash after dark even though our yard is fenced. Pierre barks at invisible monsters otherwise. BOL!

  17. It sounds like your Hugs Hop created some good karma....great job!

Our weather has been all over the place too. I had to get out a winter coat and hat for one day and then was back to just a sweatshirt the next! I finished all my garden clean up, so I guess we're ready for winter if we have to be. :)
