Habits - Deading the Toys

When Hailey was younger, she pretty much instantly deaded her babies.  I learned to sew a little to try and save them. As she has gotten older, she deads less. In fact, she likes to carry her babies around and sleep with them.

Phod has always been the remover of toy limbs and ears. Other than that, he lets them live.

However, every once and a while a good deading takes place in our house and the house ends up looking like this.

I can't get too mad at them for this, this is part of Lee's special gator.  She has had him since 2011. He was her favourite baby. He use to look like this,

Pardon Lady's finger in this old picture, we kept it cause it was funny

and now looks like this:

Soon it will be time for him to join heart baby, several monkey babies, and a whole bunch of other babies in toy baby heaven.

  2. Denny went through a phase like that for quite a while - shredded every toy even the supposedly non destructible ones....but he hasn't even looked in the toy box in months now....don't know why he stopped playing them

  3. That is one thing that we don't usually do is dead our stuffies, mom says we make up for it in many other ways though.

  4. Stuffing and squeaky removal is standard squeaky toy procedure at my house. You should also make sure each toy gets a thorough slobbering. Then I put them into my squeaky toy storage facility. I know where each one is and who gave it to me, and can find it at a moments notice.

  5. I am a very selective deader. Mostly a ball guy but occasionally, just for the heck of it, i grab a random toy and go after it like a crazy dog. Grrrrrrrr!

  6. Way to rip apart a gator! They have some tough skin to get through! A good deading every once in a while is a necessity. Out with the old, in with the new.

  7. We soooooooo get that!! Jakey extracts all stuffing and squeakers as soon as he is allowed to get his mouth on a toy!

I actually keep a "stuffy" toy in the car for Arty...because he likes to have a cushy "baby" toy. For the house I let Jakey destuff and we end up with lots of "rag" tug toys!!

  8. YEP..... happens pretty much that same way HERE... One MUST have a PLAN of ACTION... and be ready to put it to work... WHEN WE ARE READY. Can't be TOO predictable.

  10. We aren't too hard on our stuffies, but once a hole is found look out. Unfortunately we like to eat the stuffing so mom keeps a pretty close eye

  12. Hi hi hi! Ojo here! I like to dead toys too! But once I accidentally (on purpose) deaded Cobi's precious Puffie, and she got very mad. Fortunately our person put him back together again. Cobi loves her Puffie. Now I know. I just chew gently now on Puffie.

Today I also deaded a full grown bunny! That's kind of like a toy, isn't it? A Great Dane tried to steal it and I had to use all of my 30 pounds to growl him away. (My person helped, which I appreciated. But then she took away my bunny, which I did not appreciate.)

My person doesn't want me to announce to the world that I dead bunnies, and rats, and mice, and squirrels, so I'm not allowed to blog about it! But she told me that I can tell Cousin Lee and Handsome Phod, because sometimes animals get dead around them too she thinks. So that will have to be enough.

Good job deading your toy, whichever of you did it! You got further with it than I did with my bunny!

  16. Sometimes a good toy deathing is needed. In our house unfortunately every toy Dottie sees she thinks needs deathing so we can't leave them out.

  18. Our stuffies last quite a long time. They go from being indoor stuffies, then to being outdoor stuffies and finally to stuffie heaven.

  19. I like a good de-stuffing as much as the next pup but Lee's gator looks like green tube with a shrunken purple head and a knot in his tail. Lady, I thought you said you learned to sew. Then what the woof happen to the gators arms and legs? BOL

    Aroo to you,
    Sully

  22. I think the people that make stuffies know what we're going to do with them!! My mom has a pressie for you, but hasn't made it to the Post Office yet. =( She thought she could print international postage from home, but she can't.
