Training Thursday - A New Puzzle

Last weekend, while out finishing my Christmas shopping I found this:

As I know Santa plans on bringing a lot of gifts, I decided to give it to them right away. [Also we have leant 2 of our other puzzles to our cousin cats Loopy and Panda to try so we are down some puzzles].

Pros:
- I like that at Winner's it was only $15 (nice price)

-I like that it has 2 different types of spots (slid spot and a flip flap)

-I personally prefer the wood to the plastic. I find them to be sturdier than the plastic (and Lee has never tried to chew the wood ones)

-I like that the holes for treats are fairly large so I can use a variety of treats

-Hailey really seems to enjoy it and worked really hard to figure those flaps out!

Phod coming to help

Cons:
-Like all puzzle toys, Hailey figured it out fairly quickly

-It does spin on the floor when Hailey was trying to open it- this may be annoying for some dogs, but we liked it because it made her work harder

While it is still new and we haven't used it too many times, we give it 3.5 paws out of 4. We think it is good value for the money, but worry it may become too easy too quickly.

 _______________
Card Count: In the past 2 days we have gotten 6 - so 41 now for us.
2 still for the people (Lady says there is one she hasn't opened a 3rd as it is with a gift - we think she is stretching for more cards).
2 for all of us

  1. Denny loves those puzzles but he figures them out so fast and once he does they are just easy. Reilly on the paw just flips the whole thing over with his nose so all the treats fall out at once....he figures there is no point to doing hard work to get them

  4. How fun. We could never get Monty interested in those puzzles, but Sam loved them. I'll need to get another one to try with Harlow.

  5. We think that puzzle looks like so much fun! We've never tried doing one. We would probably just sit there, stare at it then cry till Mommy opened it up for us.

  8. WE really Love PUZZLES... and that one looks totally FUN... we don't have any wooden ones though... What WE like is when mom gets a bowl of our KIBBLE and brings out ALL of our PUZZLES and Fills them ... while we are out PEEING and stuffs... and we come in to a Surprise... We tie in and when we empty ONE and move on... mom refills...
On days when it is too bad to play out ... we have been known to have our ENTIRE DINNER... served through our PUZZLES... and we LOVE it.
ERNIE is Lazy and only wants to do the EASY ones... I (Frankie Furter) go fur the Challenges.
We don't know WHO enjoys a Puzzle Pawty more... US or Mom and Dad.
You REALLY did get a bargain on that one. We got most of ours from Chew.com. She says that they are a good deal THERE also.

  12. Hi there, I love it that you got an early present from the Lady. I've always been interested in these puzzles but don't think Hunter would be able to get the treat out....
If I see one that is cheap, I may just get him one.
    Have a great day!

  14. I think this one looks kind of hard! Shiner just likes to pick up these toys and carry them off somewhere.
