Tuesdays with Tigris - Approved
Reader,
The Lady decided to use some of her birthday money on things to spruce up the house. One of those things was a new mat for in front of the sink. She wanted something to go with the green and was washable. She landed on this jungle theme (Lady and her animals, she may as well be a toddler).

Mischief Monday - Squirrel Watch
Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends,
I feel like my dreams have come true. Squirrel TV has really, really improved here.

Uncle Chris got Lady stick on bird feeders for her birthday. So far she has put one up and it has worked, it has brought us squirrels, squirrels, squirrel!

The mischief is the squirrels knocked the feeder and have at least once knocked on the window looking for more food.
I can't wait to see what is on the squirrel TV channel this week. It is the best, best, best channel!

FFF and Nature Friday - A Wild Birthday - Part 1
I, the Lady am stealing the blog today, to share with you my birthday adventure. Every year, I take the day off and do something. This year, I decided I wanted to go to Parc Omega.
Parc Omega is a 2200 acre wildlife safari park. There is a 12 to 15 km/8-10 mi of driving trails through a protected forest, where in most of the animals wander freely. In many places of the park you can feed the animals carrots.
We started the day with a stop to buy about 18lbs of carrots. This was probably not fully enough for us, 20lbs would have been better, but Man had only wanted like 10, so it was a good compromise. Then we were off (making fun of the people who bought like 12 carrots).
Here are some of the highlights of our drive around.

Lanie's Log - What is This Word No
It has been 247 days since my imprisonment. As I have mentioned, I haven't really been able to complain about things recently. I am adjusting to this house cat life better than anyone expected.
However, we hit a road block. As the special baby, I get away with all the things in this house. The Man Warden says I run the place (as I should). However the other day, I came up to Lady Warden, who I score a 5/10 as a human on her best day, to ask for food. She had the audacity to say no, I could not have chocolate cake.
She now has a 1/10. Would not recommend. I don't care if chocolate cake will make me sick, a Tortie wants what a Tortie wants. I will ignore her from over here.

Tuesdays with Tigris - Less Than Sweet Dreams
Reader,
I was napping beside the Lady the other day while she was reading and I started to have dreams.
At first I was just running and twitching.
Then I started to growl.
I could have been growling at garbage cat, or maybe I was growling at the new monstrosity that Lady purchased for the bathroom that is now the litter room.

Mischief Monday - Weather
Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends,
Thank you from the bottom of my future too big heart for all the POTP and kind thoughts sent my way. I really am doing well and I love, love, love my pill. I jump up on the counter to get it. I think the girls are jealous that I get a special treat.

It has been a quiet week here, except we were alone way, way, way too long Saturday. Lady and Man went out for dinner and to a movie and then 10 minutes from home, they hit a road block. We had a bad, bad, bad thunderstorm while they were in the city and the low road (the highway) and the only other reasonable detour (the mountain road) had flooded. The firefighter said they had no idea when they may be able to open again, so a tired Lady and Man had to take a detour that took about 1.5 hours. 1.5 hours! They drove so, so, so long without a break, Lady's car gave Man a reminder that he should take a break (they were almost home then so he was not, not, not, going to stop).

| We saw this the next morning and thought this could sum up our life |
At the time of this writing on Sunday, the detour was open but the highway was still closed and may be closed for several days.

Nature Friday - An Adventure
Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends,
First, it is a very, very, very special day today. It is Lady's birthday. Happy Birthday to our Lady!

Grissie told you about Lady's cat driving adventure on Tuesday. While she had time to kill she went to visit a place called the Aquatarium. This is a small aquarium.
Here is some of the nature she saw.

Lanie's Log - Training and Other Things
It has been 240 days since my imprisonment. Don't let the Wardens know, but I may be living my best life and the cat distribution system may have worked magic, even if Tigris calls me a garbage cat.
I have decided I trust the Man Warden the best, just like I like Styx the best. Maybe I just like guys better. So this has put the training burden on Man Warden. Apparently I have heard whispers of a goal of letting my nails be cut (that sounds terrible).
So here is the training he is doing with me.

Tuesdays with Tigris - A Helpful Lady
Reader,
![]() |
| I think the Lady may be a bit crazy |
Lady saw on social media that a local cat rescue TRN Lapeche needed a driver to take a carload of cats 1.5 hours away to a spay and neuter clinic. So she took the day off and drove 14 cats about 150km/90 miles (one way, return that is twice the distance).
The clinic is an all spay and neuter clinic (they vaccine and microchip too and do a few other things). The rescue works to send a few car loads a month there. They first send cats from their rescue (a combination of feral from colonies who they support and rescued who have a chance of becoming house cats) and then open it up to the public, as the cost is about half of what Lady paid to get garbage cat fixed.
Then a volunteer picks up the cats in 2 locations and drives to the clinic. The clinic is all drive through. You drive up, you give them your dog/cat and everyone comes back at the same time that day. For Lady, she dropped all the cats off at 9 and picked them up at 2:15.
When loading the cats back into the car, the guy in line behind her yelled "who's the crazy cat lady" and Lady laughed and said "cat rescue" and he said "I figured" but they both laughed.
Then Lady drove the 14 cats back tot he 2 drop off locations and home.
She was rewarded with a $50 gas card for her time.
She said it was easy. She had to make sure the crates were labeled and zip tied. She had to Tetris them all into the car. They were very good. Only 2 complained a little on the way there. The feral ones (who had been taken from the colony the night before) stunk a bit. She had to do the same thing on the way home, where no one said anything.
She is doing it again in July. She can imagine doing it a few times in the good weather. She will not be doing this in the winter as winter driving is not her scene.
I guess it is good she is helping other cats out of our house. I made sure she knew I was still in charge and could kill her in her sleep.

Mischief Monday - Is My Heart Too Big - by Styx
Hi friends, hi friends, hi friends,
Last Tuesday was a horrible, horrible, horrible day for your friend Styxy. First my people gave me medication that made me feel very funny. I felt sooooo funny. I could eat and everything, but man, the world was different.
Then they shoved me in a crate and drove for 87 years (about 1.5 hours) and took me to a very scary, scary, scary place. Then I go to be in a room but they wouldn't let me climb. Then they took me from my people and shaved my fur.

| I have a hole on each side! |
Then after the test, I got to wait in the room with my people, and I hid behind my Lady. Hid, hid, hid. Dr. Whipp may be a very nice person, but I am not a fan.
![]() |
| Look at all the fur I put on her |
So the short story is I have a grade 3 heart murmur. I had something called an echo to look at my heart. Dr. Whipp said the findings were a bit inclusive. My heart is not pumping blood the right way, but it could be something called HCM or it could be I have a very, very special valve. In the end, it doesn't matter for treatment, because in both cases I have to take something called a Beta Blocker for the rest of my life. I also have to see Dr. Whipp again in 3 months and then about once a year. Maybe with time, we will understand more about my "prognosis" whatever that means. In the end, the concern is my heart will get too big. I already thought I had a very big heart., the biggest heart. I can't imagine it could get bigger and if it could, would that really be a problem?
On the way home, in my feeling funny state, Lady took me to the pet store. We needed more food and I needed something called a pill pocket. The ladies at the pet store loved me, and I got lots of good attention. The first pill pockets Lady bought, none of us will eat. They are yucky, yucky, yucky. Lady has since gotten better ones, so I can easily take my pill.
For now I feel good and we will see.
Thank you all for your POTP. It meant a lot.
your friend Styxy, who may have a too big heart
From the Lady: When people ask me how Styx is my answer is he is both ok (because he is not showing symptoms) and not ok (because he does have a heart problem). We are prepared for wherever this journey takes us. A friend said, I have bad luck with pets (immune disorder, brain injury, neurological issues etc.) and I said I look at it as the animals who find their way to use have very good luck because we can support them with their journeys.
