Lanie's Log - Making The Best of It

It has been 142 days since my captivity began. Lady and Man Warden are starting to notice my "tortitude". Apparently Tortoiseshell cats are known for their fiery, feisty and vocal personalities. Apparently the wardens can expect me to be strong-willed, independent and loyal.  I am refusing to give them the loyal.

I am not too chatty yet, but the other day I did call for love and Lady Warden came, and I was happy and purring and I moved, so she moved and I swatted her as hard as I could. My sharp claws left marks on her hand. Then I went back to purring and enjoying pets.

Besides the food and treats, and if I am honest, the climate, Styx makes this place bearable. We have started to play chase. I will even play when the Wardens are around. However, I will not remain in any part of the house they are in, except my room, for long if they are there. I also have a huge dislike for the camera. Lady Warden brings the camera out and I death stare here.  In spite of this, the Lady Warden has tried to capture me "being a cat." Here are some of her sad attempts.

Me running during a game of chase

Me sitting on the table

Me and Styx right after I gave him a kiss

Besides playing catch and with my ball, I have started to show interest in the feather, but refuse to let Lady Warden see me play this with Man Warden.

So the Wardens continue to be thrilled with my progress and I continue to accept this is where I am right now.

  4. You are doing so well with your family, Lanie...except for swatting the Lady Warden with your claws. It's nice to hear you are playing with Styx once in a while too.

  5. Tortitude is definitely a thing. My Penny has it- the vet tech wears welding gloves. :)
